Barbara Steele?! How could you forget Hazel Court? Helen Chandler?! Evelyn Ankers!?

And don't get me started on adding dear old Lon Chaney (Sr. & Jr.) to the mix.

More great ideas keep coming. I especially like the idea of themes, and Halloween deserves to be the first of the themes.

Allow me to I suggest that it include Lon Chaney unmasked as The Phantom of the Opera. One of the most iconic shots in all cinema.

Lomm, why not do themes through the end of the year, then start with the decade banners? You could vary the decades with a star of the month banner, and of course, more themes. 2 weeks of theme, 2 weeks of decades, 2weeks of SOTM, etc. Say, that would be a great quote: "etc, etc, etc."

Whatever you do, I'm sure it will be fun for all of us. Btw, is the banner supposed to move? It doesn't on my tablet....

Loving the great ideas and theme suggestions.

If we are throwing ideas out, could I suggest a month of character actors with a changing cast each week or more often? It would fun seeing how many we can remember and it would be delightful to spotlight these key players.

I don't think the quote or the banner are meant to move, knitty. It's stationary on my laptop & ipad.

No, they should not move. Many great ideas here! I hopefully will have some time this weekend to get rolling on some of them. :)

Here's a strong vote for Moira's suggestion of character actor themes.

And, may I suggest a panel of in-character performers, taken from the films not publicity shots, might also be fun, since we could then guess at both the actor and the film.

Lomm, you may be interested to know that the original banner was still displaying for me (current version of Firefox for Mac) until I cleared the cache.

Yes, that will happen sometimes, unfortunately. The image title is the same no matter what, so until you refresh (by holding down shift and pressing the reload/refresh button on your browser or by clearing your cache), you may still see the old one.

The banner has been updated again. I'm sure every one of you know who all the stars shown are. All are plucked from requests in this thread. :)

If you don't see the new one, hold down your shift key and click the refresh button on your web browser, or empty your internet cache.
