Wow! I found this superb salute to Mary Pickford on YouTube last night, while searching for songs, and was transported! So beautiful! I'm pretty sure that's Gene Austin with this rendition of "My Blue Heaven"? I recognized his voice almost immediately. Very distinctive.
Mary was like a true living Goddess of ethereal loveliness! She is the most important Woman in the history of the Cinema! The very first Superstar of film! Plain and simple. Before Mary, people never even knew the players names! They literally, were not given on-screen! She changed all that! How could the idiotic AFI rate Her only 25th in a list of top ladies of the movies! Positively ridiculous! And Mary's films are still amazing today! What an impressive body of work! One great picture after another! Her movies are so underrated it's beyond belief!
