Three on a Match

Post by ken123 »

[The three are Bette Davis, Joan Blondell, & Ann Dvorak. The film follows the lives of three females friends from grammar school till their late twenties. Ann Dvorak gives a riveting performance as a lady who is bored with her lawyer husband, Warren William[, and would rather be in with the fast crowd. Its a shame that Ms Dvorak's career was so short. A week or two ago TCM had a Lana Turner film playing in the afternoon, in it Lana is eagar to become a fashion model. Ann Dvoral has a supporting role, not large, as an aging model attempting a comeback, who commits suicide. Ms Dvorak was the most compelling player in the film and her early exit war sorley missed, at least by me.] :(

A very tasty precode. I haven't seen it in a long time, I need to revisit it. A young Bette Davis in a very small supporting part.

Thank you for the title of the film and the name of the director. :D
