Oh what a cutie! He doesn't look awfully smart, does he? Ahh, ignorance is bliss...

I have been interested in foxes lately, since we had one in our front garden a couple of months ago before the freeze. He wasn't as bold as that one though!

My little friend is SO excited to find ground again after three weeks of snow. She runs around pawing and sniffing at it. "Look! It's back!"

Ha! Red, I'm so happy for her! Lily just keeps poking her nose down into the snow trying to find the earth. No such luck, it's under 10 inches more of snow...

Oh my gosh, he just disappeared! And that was no tiny dog, like mine!

Lily almost wiped out on our front walkway this morning. it was sheet ice about 2 inches thick with a thin layer of water on top. She went running out the door like crazy because she didn't get a good walk yesterday. We had another 3-6 inches of snow and then rain on top which turned to slush then iced up overnight. She galloped in place for a minute, while I hung on for dear life as I slid across the ice behind her, attached by a leather leash. There was no resistance so I know she didn't feel it, but I felt very much like a competitor in the Iditarod.... she's rather strong for a thirteen pound dog, and very single-minded. We managed to make it across the barren waste to the cleared street with no injuries to either of us.
