Holiday Surprises

Post by mrsl »

.
Holy Mackerol; all of a sudden I'm having 5 to 7 people over for Christmas Eve dinner! My granddaughter is doing the cooking which in itself is a surprise, but I'm going to meet her new boyfriend. Also my son is probably coming in from Calif. for at least a few days, and my daughter and the kids will be here, so what I thought was going to be a boring night is instead going to be terrific. Actually, I'm taking a break from cleaning and starting to make cookies. So off I go to get started.

It sounds like a very Merry, action-packed Christmas Eve, Anne. I'm so glad to see this fun coming your way. I hope that you'll be able to relax a bit and let the visitors make a well-deserved fuss over you after all your cleaning and baking. Enjoy!

This year's holiday surprise is the weather. We didn't have any snow here in MD but it sure got cold and with enough wind ot blow over a big pine tree in the neighbor's yard.

Surprise here was that in northwestern S.C. the temperature dropped to 9 degrees and high will be in 20's. Although that is not totally unusual, usually happens in Jan or Feb. Temps. around Christmas were 70 a couple of years ago.
But will be sunny and 56 on Thursday.
