If wishes were horses you would all be on a ride as I wish each of you the blessings of the season. Thank you so much for all the fun, education, and joy you have brought into my life. I hope it all comes back to you a hundred fold. Let the revels begin!!

As if on celestial cue, a magnificent view of a heavenly phenomenon has appeared in the sky, dubbed Comet Lovejoy after the amateur astronomer who spied this wonder this month.

Mary Kate that was lovely! You know you always point up things that deserve a closer look in these videos. I find certain things jump out at you. Aspects of the filmmaking really become profound when i watch your videos. The look of that little boy against the snow, or Scrooge running towards us to the desk with the lamp on it, or the way one section fades into another. Thanks, they make me more aware of the film you are tributing.

Wow, thank you. I'll confess that I've never planned any profundity in my videos, but I do try to remain faithful to the film's story/spirit when I make a fan video...

... and when someone says this, I think I may have succeeded in my intent. :)

Anyway, thanks so much for letting me know you enjoyed it, and have a very Merry Christmas.Image

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

I arrived home last night safe and sound despite the irritating traffic (and the incredible long line of cars behind me on the 5). MrCutter had said he wasn't putting up any lights this year but as I drove down our street (singing along with the always great Darlene Love Baby, Please Come Home), I almost passed our house thinking "Wow, the neighbors did a really nice job of decorating with lights".

It was our house and he put up the lights, the garlands and the alien wreath!

Inside, he had decorated as well.

I'm a very lucky woman.

Hope everyone's holiday wishes come true!

Here's Darlene Love on David Letterman last year (her performance on Friday night's Letterman show was just as good but isn't up on youtube yet):

Mary-Kate, that was a lovely video! As much as I like the 1938 version, I love the 1951 version best! I haven't had time to sit down with it yet this Christmas season, and now I feel like I was able to see the very best of it. Thank you!

May I share with my wonderful friends on this terrific site a video produced by my wife. Known as The Story Fairy, Cindy performs monthly events at our local Childrens Hospital, produces a weekly 30-minute show on our community access TV station, and generally brings much joy and happiness to kiddies. So, for those of you with children, or the young at heart, here's a video I hope you will enjoy: Presented with our love and only the best wishes for the Season - and most especially, our prayers that each of you and your families enjoys health, happiness and prosperity for 2013! God bless you all from The Western Guy and The Story Fairy:

Ahh, that was lovely, we watched it together. I love the kids faces watching enraptured as the story is told to them. Cindy makes a lovely fairy and has a such a nice reading voice for children. I'm sold on the dragon. What a nice thing to put her energies into helping these children. Bless them all.

How excited are children in general, I wish I could find a way to recharge my own batteries off their excitement. I think they will not sleep properly now until after the big day.
