Illinois Governor Signs Civil Union Law

Today Illinois Governor Pat Quinn signed the Illinois Civil Union Law allowing same - sex couples to have certain rights. It is not a same sex marriage law, though certain opponents of the new law say that this law will lead to the state, somewhere along the line, into doing just that, approving same sex couples to marry. The opposition to the new Civil Unions Law have seemed to disappearred here over the years.
