Re: Make It a Double!
Or wait, now that someone mentioned it in another thread, maybe Night and the City and Sunset Boulevard.... both insular corrupt communities that feed off of people.
Gosh I love Night and the City. What movie do you think fits with it best? Maybe Pickup? I don't know, but I want the perfect match!

Check out the threads with Dewey's Roxie programs. That's programming! Can anyone put some film noirs together?

Yeah, they are great, I've ordered movies on the strength of Dewey's screenings.

Re: Make It a Double!
I love the Dinner at Eight/Grand Hotel combination
That is good. Thanks to Jack Favell, I believe! Noir combos? THE GLASS KEY and THE BLUE DAHLIA share style and cast. OUT OF THE PAST and THE BIG STEAL partner Mitchum and Greer. You could almost do DETOUR and QUICKSAND. Low budget films with the "one big mistake" theme.
Maybe we have trouble pairing this genre because they're unique unto themselves. Does anything look good next to DOUBLE INDEMNITY?

Re: Make It a Double!
Come to think of it, could we do DOUBLE INDEMNITY and SUNSET BLVD? Wilder's darkest films. Some would say his best. An ironic line of humor running through it. I like it!

Re: Make It a Double!
Oh my gosh, those are perfect!
Ace in the Hole and Network, yes! Add in A Face in the Crowd to make it a triple.
You've really hit it with Double Indemnity and Postman.
I think I would rather see A Summer Place/Peyton Place, just because I LOVE Peyton Place. It's long been a favorite of mine.
I really like the combo of Pandora and Vertigo.

Re: Make It a Double!
Thanxx so much. I meant to add "A FACE IN THE CROWD" (good idea), but I got so fancy schmancy in creating my list, that it slip through the cracks. But of course..."A Face in the Crowd" would be a perfectly prescient triple feature.

Thank you R.R. Loved your idea for the thread. Looking forward to seeing more contributions to the double-feature.
Ahhhh yes, JackaaAaay. Thanx. Give me the testosterone-laden, swarthy, curly-haired man in a fedora, wide lapels, with a hint of five o'clock shadow...and I don't know HOW to act!JackFavell wrote:I adore your Victor Mature double date.... yum!
