So ... get your thinking caps on list your favorite couple in order of rank and since its late Saturday ... I will give you all until OCTOBER 21ST to submit your list here on this Thread and then I will spend a couple days tabulating all your votes and start the contest when you see Polls created by me. I will have 16 polls set up for all of you to vote for two options to choose from.

Thank you all for taking time to read this and you have any questions ... drop off your concerns on this thread. So ... let's get those lists generated!

Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks
Greta Garbo and John Gilbert
Gene Kelly and Judy Garland
Charkes Farrell and Janet Gaynor
Maurice Chevalier and Jeanette MacDonald
Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse
Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse
Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy
John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara

Clark Gable and Jean Harlow
Robert Mitchum and Deborah Kerr
Trevor Howard and Celia Johnson
Marcello Mastroianni and Sophia Loren

Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland

Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi
Joseph Cotten and Jennifer Jones
Clark Gable and Joan Crawford

I've left out some fairly obvious ones, Johnny Weismuller and Maureen O'Hara, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby and Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy, simply because I haven't seen them and Myrns Loy and William Powell because I've only watched the first Thin man, all these made more than 1 film together, I think so.

Not exactly in the order that ranks them from my most favorite down, but it was tough coming up with 32. I tried to do this without looking at any other lists. There are probably some I'll see and say, "Oh, yeah. I forgot about them." Still, here are 32 I came up with. (I tried to make sure that each pairing made more than one movie together. That is what makes them a ''couple". IMHO)

If i understand correctly, the ranking is in reverse order; e.g., #32 is my favorite & gets 32 points, and #1 gets 1 point. If that's wrong, then flip 'em.

1. Dennis Hopper and Kyle MacLachlan
2. "Roger Rabbit" (Charles Fleischer) and "Jessica Rabbit" (Kathleen Turner)
3. Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis
4. William Powell and Myrna Loy
5. Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee
6. Robert DeNiro and Christopher Walken
7. Ronald Reagan and Angie Dickinson
8. Boris Karloff and Elsa Lancaster
9. Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder
10. Tom Ewell and Marilyn Monroe
11. Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi
12. Edward G. Robinson and Fred MacMurray
13. Barry Sullivan and Barbara Stanwyck
14. Joel McCrea and Claudette Colbert
15. John Cassavetes and Gena Rowlands
16. Victor Moore and Beulah Bondi
17. Carlo Battisti and "Flike" (actually, two dogs played the single role)
18. Joan Crawford and Mercedes McCambridge
19. Earl Holliman and Lee Van Cleef
20. Al Pacino and John Cazale
21. "Wile E. Coyote" and "The Roadrunner"
22. Humphrey Bogart and Claude Rains
23. Robert Ryan and Ida Lupino
24. Lee Marvin and Gloria Grahame
25. Orson Welles and Joseph Cotten
26. James Dean and Sal Mineo
27. Woody Allen and Diane Keaton
28. Edward G. Robinson and Joan Bennett
29. John Dall and Peggy Cummins
30. Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell
31. "King Kong" and Fay Wray
32. Groucho Marx and Margaret Dumont

You need to rank them in order.
And now you know why I avoid participating in polls. I stink at it. I'll work on it and let you know when I correct my original post. Oh, the pressure!

Now I'm confused about the points system, too early in the morning and no caffeine yet is my excuse, mine are in order, starting with Astaire and Rogers as favourites and working down, so if I've messed up your system Erik let me know.

I've got to say it was hard to come up with them and I've done it strictly based on my viewing but it's interesting to see the diversity that has come out so far.
