"False" is right! As a mild snowstorm and high winds are buffeting
those of us on the Middle Coast. But we'll take a shot at this fine
sentiment.

I recently saw the giallo Un Detective AKA Detective Beli AKA Ring of Death (1969), which has a fabulous Jazzy score, featuring a trumpeter that sounds very much like Chet Baker. I know Baker was in Italy at this time (and always needed money for drugs), so it's very possible that it's his work. Unfortunately, I found none of the ballads on youtube, which seem to be more reflective of Baker's style (one which plays as a man discovers a murder victim is especially poignant), only the main theme:

Some are programmers in the dark, some are perfessers teaching
about the dark, and others are playing dark records at the party.
But someone is all of those rolled into one -- and is having his
Piscesian birthday today while standing in the shadows at the edge
of town on the dead end street.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEWEY!
