The same to you and everyone here who share the tradition. My Granddaughter and five of her close 12 year old friends all went out and bought the very same "pussy cat" costumes with tails and all. they painted each other's faces and went to a dance as six cats on the prowl. Absolutely adorable. if I knew how to post a picture here I would do it.

One of my most favorite Halloweens was the year I was three and my Mom had made me a Peter Pan costume!

Great Peter Pan photo!

We had a lot of trick-or-treaters this year. A surprisingly large number of boys were superheroes. The girls tended to be fairies or cheerleaders. Apart from one stunning vampire, very few horror costumes this year.

Masha, great proofreading! I've had several friends check it, and you are good! Thank you! I hate to have a boo-boo in my copy. Love your spooky, grooming kitty!

Thanks, Mike! I had quite a few trick or treaters tonight, too. One little fella came as a Mighty Morphin Power Ranger, and I said "Why, you are a Mighty Morphin Power Ranger!" and he said to his Mom, "Hey, how did she know I was a Mighty Morphin Power Ranger?" It was soooooo cute!

Kingrat and Rita, I thought it was adorable, too!

Great Aggie shot, PT!

Well, I also made chili, rice, and brownies from scratch like I do every Halloween since my son was young. My neighbor made cornbread, and we all shared. Nice evening!

My first contact with Halloween was only three years ago. A group of about a half dozen children knocked on the door. The conversation went something like this.

They : Trick or treat.
Me: What does that mean?
They: It`s Halloween!
Me: What`s that?
They: Well, you have to give us presents!
Me: Have to?
They: Well, you are supposed to, or the ghosts will get you!

So I gave them a packet of biscuits to share, and they went away happy. A couple of other groups also came, so I gave them the same.

A bit of research told me that another way of shops making money had been found.

So last year I was prepared with some lollies, and that was ok.

This year even the girls in the supermarket were dressed as witches, So I supposed that I had to get into the spirit (LOL) of it and I bought twenty packets of potato crisps to give away—It rained, and now I have twenty packets of potato crisps to eat.

It's a strangely American custom! It had rained and flooded all day yesterday, but stopped about an hour before time to trick or treat.

I think all the kids were so happy in our neighborhood!
