#31 Sunrise vs. #34 Les Enfants du Paradis

The feedback I have gotten is that these are two of the lesser known films among our members. Those of you that know and love these films could do us all a grest service by discussing them and their merits in length.

The voting will run through Friday, December 7, at 11:59 pm (Pacific). Every registered member is eligible to vote. One vote per thread please, and no tombstone votes. You can change your vote up until that last minute if you choose.I am going to ask that when you do vote that you ONLY put the name of the film you wish to vote for in a post all by itself, no other words or comments. This is just so when it comes time to count the votes they are nice and clear. Then you can open another post and say anything you like about why you like the film you chose or don't like the film you didn't choose, or whatever. The more discussion of the two films in competition the better. Mudslinging is allowed, but no personal attacks on individual voters. I would appreciate it if someone would post the posters from the films in each thread. That would make a nice visual for the voters to refer to. Also, feel free to post any pictures from the films or of the stars to help sell your arguments.

Let the competition begin!

"Children of the Paradise" gets my vote. It is nearly three hours long, and the time flies past when I watch it. The movie ends tragically for all its main characters, yet I am exhilarated when I walk out of the theater.

This is the toughest pair-up for me as I adore both, they are both in my top 5 films, and they are both masterpieces. For now, I am going to hold off voting, as I might consider posting critiques for both films.

I'll hold off voting. I've seen Sunrise and liked it immensely but I would like a good in-depth critique of the other.

My method of voting is to pick the one I'd watch if both were on at the same time on different channels.

Since I've never seen either of these films, I abstain.
