2015 TCM Classic Film Festival

Post by pvitari »

This just arrived in my e-mail (it's also on the TCM Facebook page):

TCM CLASSIC FILM FESTIVAL RETURNS MARCH 26-29, 2015

Join Robert Osborne, Ben Mankiewicz, VIP guests, and your fellow classic movie fans from around the globe for the sixth annual TCM Classic Film Festival in Hollywood.

The central theme of the TCM Classic Film Festival is History According to Hollywood. The Old West. Medieval England. Ancient Rome. Hollywood has found endless inspiration in re-creating historical moments and bringing to life the heroes and villains of the past, creating a form of time travel for audiences through the ages and around the world. These films, however, are not always true to the historical record - filmmakers have often created works about the past that are a reflection of the period in which they were made, or change facts to suit their storyline. The 2015 TCM Classic Film Festival will explore how cinema has shaped how we view and remember history.

The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel will again serve as our official hotel for the Festival, as well the home of Club TCM- the central gathering point for attendees. We are pleased to announce that 2015 attendees may book their Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel accommodations conveniently online. Additionally, the W Hotel Hollywood is also an official Lodging Partner. For information on how to book your accommodations at our partner hotels, please click here. [This link is a download]

Passes for the 2015 TCM Classic Film Festival will go on sale in November of 2014.

I won't be attending it in March because I will be in London that week and be in England on a two weeks tour exploring Castles.

I will be flying from Seattle to Boston on March 12th and stay overnight in Boston and depart to London on the 13th - stay in a hotel in Outer London from 14th to the 23rd and head back to London Business District for a two night stay before flying back home. I'm going with three other friends and I'm looking forward this trip. This will be my fourth trip to London in 20 years.

It's an worry free trip - All Meals Covered, Guided Tour, and most of all everything is taken care of you ... I don't have to worry about Money Exchanges and all.

Paula,

Yes, it has usually been held in April the past five years.

April is a busy month with early premieres of the big movies the studios hope will be blockbusters in May and now that Grauman's has that new IMAX screen, I imagine TCM probably ran into snags trying to book the theater in April.

March is also usually a tad cooler though with this drought, anything is possible.
