That's right...Fred Mertz: Francophile.
He & Ethel did do an apache dance on one episode, right? He had a beret and shirt with black & white (or they looked black & white) horizontal stripes? Trying to get into Ricky's show?

Knitty, you and I are living together. We agreed on the Eiffel Tower as a perfect marriage proposal site. But that's the last time we agreed!

Re: Me-TV
Oh, I started crying when Robert Keith (Pop Kimble) said quietly, "It's dark, Dick. Time for you to go."RedRiver wrote:"Home is the sailor, home from the sea. The hunter home from the hill. But for Richard Kimble, not yet. Not yet."
In case anyone wonders what the heck we're babbling about, it is one of the best epis of The Fugitive ever, "Home is the Hunted," which was aired on Me-TV last night. The lines quoted by Red were the voiced by William Conrad over the sight of Kimble mounting the steps of one more bus to oblivion...and maybe some peace someday.
The program, written by Arthur Weiss, was about Richard Kimble's brief return to Stafford, indiana after he sees a headline indicating that his father (who was also a doctor) has given his medical library to a university after the man suffered a near-fatal heart attack. After two years on the run, Kimble sees the ripple effects of his conviction and life on the run on his father, sister (Jacqueline Scott) and brother (Andrew Prine, whose chronic snarkiness makes more sense in this role than usual). As usual, it is Janssen's non-verbal performance that still remains exceptionally powerful. The angst on his face when he sees his father for the first time and as he watches his two small nephews play while he is concealed was so moving. Here's the episode, if you haven't seen it.

I really like the actress...I must make note of her name because she's in about a hundred thousand tv shows....RedRiver wrote:Kimble's sister Donna is a great character. She appears in several episodes.

Jacqueline Scott.
I saw her in a "Have Gun, Will Travel" a few weeks ago. She was fun in that one. She does have quite a list.

Chris (movieman1957): how coincidental...over at TCM you and I were chatting about Franciscus (and his hair) and you mentioned a series he had called "Longstreet", which I'd never heard of. Now it turns out Me-TV is airing the pilot of that show this Friday night!
