I read that as well. Thanks for posting.
So, in programming terms, it would make sense to show Deaf Smith and Johnny Ears, then Giant.
I think TCM could occasionally have a Western Wednesday Night. Sounds cute, right?

What, no Desert Fury? No A Kiss Before Dying? No Return to Peyton Place? No Hush . . . Hush, Sweet Charlotte?

I'm not interested in Mary Astor. But one of her films that I would like to see is Return of the Terror.

I’m sorry, I did not mean to cause additional pain. I was thinking you might use it as sort of a checklist to identify what you have and have not seen. TCM repeats many of them throughout the year so hopefully there will be future opportunities to see some of them.

Another source of pain for me is the loss of most of the access to TCM’s movie database on the web. In the past you could pull up records for a particular star and see which of their films were coming up on the schedule. That sadly is no longer available. A tragic loss in my opinion.

I currently have schedule records that go back about 20 years. Prior to that is incomplete. MovieCollectorOH has published a complete list of every title that has been shown on TCM, which is a big help.

Just an update on the schedule - earlier today TCM posted the preliminary schedule for the dates May 21 - May 31, which were initially left out. There are still some holes but the schedule is now much more complete. My summary documents have been updated at the link listed above.

I looked at the At-A-Glance schedule. I normally don't.
Wow! I like it.
I opened the MCOH link and got sidetracked by his association with Linux Mint.
I have tinkered with it without decent success.
Being St. Patrick's Day, a perfect time to speak of Linux Mint.
It seems like TCM is on a diet.
As I mentioned during my brief cameo on a different forum, Criterion should buy the TCM properties and give the Film Struck concept a second chance.
Sunsetting the current (linear) version of TCM seems inevitable.

FilmStruck has been given a second chance, as The Criterion Channel.

I've been a subscriber to The Criterion Channel since its launch in 2019. Initially, the layout and design of TCC was strikingly similar to the look of FilmStruck.

There's some overlap (they have a "Hollywood Classics" thread that usually has dozens of titles at any given time), but the Criterion Collection channel has a lot more foreign and art house titles that TCM would never show.

There's also overlap with the "TCM Hub" on HBOmax, but that collection is "curated", as they say, by HBO staffers and not TCM. So you also see things there that are much newer and would likely send some of the TCM hardliner viewers into a tizzy (for not being "classic"). They also have some very old titles, such as some of the Georges Melies films.

Criterion is a boutique home video distribution company which license films from rights owners. It would never have the capital needed to license the entire TCM library, let alone buy the properties outright. Besides that Warner would never let go of any of their titles.

In fact, Criterion laid off a portion of their staff a few months back, which was very sad to see. I've been purchasing their releases since 1998 and signed up for Filmstruck and then the Criterion Channel on day one. When they collaborated with TCM for TCM Imports and then worked on Filmstruck together I was amazed to see how far they had come. Criterion has their own little corner on HBO Max, so they still work together.

As EP mentioned they offer thematic programming of some classic films, a lot of art house and independent films. This is in keeping with Criterion's old mission statement. I find that it's the streaming service I use the most.

Past themes of interest have included:

Stars
John Garfield
Jean Harlow
Glenda Jackson
Ida Lupino
Robert Mitchum
