Flame and the Flesh (1954)
The Tingler (1958)
Scent of Mystery (1960)
Period of Adjustment (1962)
The Knack and How to Get It (1965)
Morgan! A Suitable Case for Treatment (1966)
In Like Flint (1967)
Diamonds for Breakfast (1968)
The Young Runaways (1968)
Country Dance (1970)
Song of Norway (1970; beautiful photography, but this is so sugary in makes The Sound of Music look like GoodFellas)
Hammersmith is Out (1972)
Blume in Love (1973;largely because of the positive treatment of rape)
The Girl from Petrovka (1974)
Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia (1974)
The Man in the Glass Booth (1975)
Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris (1975)
Royal Flash (1975)
Heroes (1977)
Buddy Buddy (1981)
The Osterman Weekend (1983)
Crimes of Passion (1984; Kathleen Turner and Annie Potts emerge unscathed but the film is wildly hypersexualized and makes no sense.)
Care Bears II: A New Generation (1986)
Amazing Grace and Chuck (1987)
White Mischief (1987)
Batman (1989)
The NeverEnding Story II: The Next Chapter (1990)

Career Opportunities (1991)
Hard Promises (1991)
Defenceless (1991)
We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story (1993)
The New Age (1994)
The Crucible (1996)
The War at Home (1996)
Baby Geniuses (1999; can't believe I forgot this one. It's a firm candidate for worst film ever made.)
The Cider House Rules (1999)
Hanging Up (2000)
Woman on Top (2000)
Vanilla Sky (2001)
Riding in Cars with Boys (2001)
The World's End (2013)
The Two Popes (2019)
Mank (2020)
Last Night in Soho (2021; talk about a glum horror film. Diana Rigg rises above it)
The Whale (2022)
Barbie (2023)

All I've seen are THE TINGLER and PERIOD OF ADJUSTMENT.

POA is not the way I like my Tennessee Williams but THE TINGLER is fun.

You can add BRANNIGAN to your list, CI. ScreenPix generously ran this on St. Patrick's Day and I laughed throughout. Wonderfully cheesy late-Duke vehicle has him as an Irish-American Chicago cop in London trying to extradite crime boss John Vernon back to the States. We are supposed to think Wayne's culture clashes with the Brits are oh so amusing, particularly Richard Attenborough who works for Scotland Yard. They are not.

FOREVER AMBER'S musical score by David Raksin has to be the most exquisitely beautiful in movie history as far as I'm concerned.

Believe me, you'll find one! But take your time.
I bet I will, despite the many years separating the two actors.

Remember though, it is not about years or disparity, but the non-linear links and multiple connections you can make.

Linda Darnell would have been perfect as Pearl Chavez in DUEL IN THE SUN.

Wait! That sounds like the very first thing they taught us in that Marketing 101 course I took in Junior College years ago!

;)

Yeah, good call here, Bronxie. Yep, she would've been great in that role and better cast in it than was Jennifer Jones.

Now days whenever the name "Linda Darnell" comes up, I always think of our old friend and regular contributor on the old TCM boards Arturo.

(...and then wonder how he's doin' lately)

Love Story (1970) was on last night. I was switching back and forth to it and I have some musings since many of the things I liked where what others seem to hate.

Ali MacGraw's performance- I thought she did very well as the smart mouth college girl from the lower classes. I liked how she tossed off some wisecracks.

The snow scene- my favorite moment in the film. Even though it was probably fake snow, the photography looked great and I loved the angelic music on the soundtrack. MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal really seemed to be having fun romping through the snow. Whenever it's on I usually watch up to this scene before I switch to something else.

Other things I liked- Ray Milland re-energizing his career with a good role in a blockbuster film, and without his toupee. The opening line about a girl who died, and she loved Mozart, Bach and the Beatles. And I also loved the scenes with Oliver's British MG automobile.

I was mostly joking when I first posted that, but I'll take a look, though I have
to admit it's not a top of the list thing. Yes, some of the connections are rather
tenuous, but they still are connections. I have to wonder: Bela Lugois~Kevin Bacon.

We both found the Jackie Gleason connection with NOTHING IN COMMON, but you discovered it in a much more film-savvy way than me. I went the more tortuous route, lol: Hanks was in NIC with Gleason, who in one Honeymooners episode, tries to wise up a fellow lodge member about marriage by mentioning The Red Skelton Show. Lugosi did a skit in the 1950's on Skelton's show. I completely forgot about YOU'LL FIND OUT, ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT, Lorre, and especially that Jackie was in the latter.

Bravo, my friend.
