As a short time disc jockey everyone needs a "bathroom song." You never know when so you have to be ready. There were several to chose from. Here was mine.

Richard Harris - MacArthur Park.

Wow, Chris, thanks for sharing! While ol' Richard Harris was gargling out his psychedelic anthem to rain soaked cake, I hunted down a few tidbits from one of my fave 60s British Invasion groups, THE ZOMBIES...hope ya like 'em!

Great songs all around.

Here is one I thought you might enjoy. For those who thought Lainie Kazan was just an overweight overwrought mom in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" give a look and listen to:

"When I Look In Your Eyes" by Lainie Kazan.

My father enjoyed her singing and she was quite a looker.[/b]

Outstanding, Chris! Lainie Kazan has held a top spot in my heart ever since I bought her first LP back in '66 (I still have it!) So let's bring her back for a encore...here doing her best to maintain her cool in a duet with Dean Martin!

Lainie Kazan & Dean Martin "Gimme a Little Kiss"

And here's ol' Dino again, this time with the lovely Carol Lawrence...

Having a record party is no fun without dancing, so here's some songs by bands that got me jumping all over during their live shows to the point that I actually hurt the next day.

Pet Shop Boys -- Left to My Own Devices I finally saw them last year, and they were fantastic. I love PSB with a passion. Proof that it doesn't have to be stupid to be danceable.

Erasure -- Victim Of Love Another band that i finally got to see. This is a great video, with Andy Bell at his flamboyant best. Saw them in 2005.

Gang of Four -- To Hell With Poverty The band I waited the longest to see between becoming a fan and actually seeing a live show -- 25 years. Without question my favorite rock band of all time. Saw them in 2005.

Here's a couple of versions of Europa to start your morning:

One from the Master Carlos:

Check out the sustain around the 4 min. mark. Also a great use of dynamics and volume control that is rarely applied by todays players.

Here's a different version by the great Tuck Andress. I had the pleasure of seeing him do this live in the late 80's. People like this should be kicked off the face of the earth! The make us mere mortals very uncomfortable:

Ben, thank ya so much for "The Weight", and from a concert performance yet; it always puts me in mind of my seven years of residence on Vashon Island, Washington.
Granted, Smashmouth's "Walking on the Sun" was actually written about life on Vashon, but somehow, The Weight always seemed more appropriate a choice to be the Island's theme! 8)
