I was very taken by the cinematography, too---even in the interior shots. It's a beautiful
looking black-and-white film. Not as dramatically photographed as Brief Encounter, but
lovely. I'm not quite as taken with Ann Todd's looks (I wish she'd loosen up her hair!), but
she really is right for the part, with that aloof chill she had about her.
I'm watching Home from the Hill and the only time George Peppard was remotely
interesting to me is in this movie. It's a good part for him.
