Cuthbert wrote: October 22nd, 2022, 7:25 pm Just getting the hang of this. I'm Cuthbert here; Swithin on the TCM Board, but I couldn't seem to make that work here, so I chose another Anglo-Saxon saint, Cuthbert being from Northumbria rather than Winchester.

Nice to see a few old friends here.
I hope you can upload your old avatar, as I always liked it. If not (you may want a new pic for a new beginning), I get it.
The mastering of uploading photos always takes a bit of time for me. I'm always told that photos are too large. But I'll work at it.

TikiSoo - I am elated to see you here! I had forgotten that you are a member.I hope this is a token of many other wonderful things.

norfious - I am sorry to say that we had little or no interaction on the TCM boards. I hope we will get along like gangbusters here. Note: I would hesitate updating your username. It was necessary some years ago that I re-register. Some factor in that process caused all of my old posts to disappear. Note 2: I was/am SansFin on the TCM forums.

Let us all hope that we see many more old friends and even some new faces in this forum now!
Have you taken the name Masha from Chekhov? I used to get confused by all the Mashas in his works. I assume you are not naming yourself for the depressing character in The Seagull!

It's going to be interesting to see just how far Discovery goes in reimaging and repurposing TCM.

Masha has been my nickname several times in my life. It is from folklore. The meaning ranges from: "whimsically precocious girl" to "willful brat" depending on the mother's or lover's level of exasperation.

A popular current video series captures the basic nature: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqqhZ8Fs ... R&index=26

My username on: TCM.com forums was: SansFin.

I chose a new avatar. I was at Bletchley Park in England last week and took this photo of a photo of Alan Turing.
