Do you have any idea who the 'little girls' are with Roy Rogers? Some of them look familiar but I can't fit names to them, unless I'm imagining.

The seated woman to Roy's right looks like Dale Evans. Don't recognize the others.

I believe all those girls around Roy Rogers are just extras. I myself don't recognize a single familiar name.

Dear Mongo,
After seeing your photo and note on Ross Alexander today, I found the following article on Classic Images about the tragic young man
Ross Alexander: Fleeting Star by John R. Allen, Jr. I wonder if Alexander might have been better off in the more tolerant atmosphere of the theater, where he might have received the acceptance he desperately sought after?

I haven't seen Tyrone Power Jr since he was in the second Cocoon years ago. Do you have any other photos of him? I only ask because I wonder if he really looks so much like his dad, or is it just this one facial expression, lighting, pose or what.

Hi,

Thanks Moira for the article on Ross Alexander. I knew nothing about him, only his name as a former star...
But, facetiously I say - if I'd had to appear in that costume he's wearing, I'd probably commit suicide as well...... Forgive me, I couldn't resist!!

And, when I saw that picture of Grace Bradley at 95, I thought it was Jolie Gabor (Mama) - - they could have been twins!!

Moira, thanks for that very well written article on Ross Alexander in Classic Images. I knew he had some problems but not at that length. I wonder if he suffered from what is now known as Bipolar? Sad story indeed.

Anne, I for one see Tyrone Power in his son's face.

Larry, I didn't even know that Grace Bradley was still with us until I did some research. She certainly remained an attractive woman.

Thanks for the article about Ross Alexander Moira. He had such a sad life... Uncannily enough I have "A Midsummer's Night Dream" (1935) DVD edition beside me, waiting to be seen ASAP. I did not know that he was so madly in love with Bette Davis.

Joe, Myrna's sexy still from "The Barbarian" (1933) is awesome. Claudette Colbert's bath scene from "The Sign of the Cross" comes to my mind.

As ever, great photos, Mongo!
And Brenda & Ava in one run?! . . don't worry 'bout me, though, I only swooned long enough to slam my head on the desk once . . !

Fernando, I believe I posted a picture of Claudette Colbert in a milk bath somewhere amongst the hundreds of images here.
Thanks for the clarification on the picture of Myrna Loy.

Klondike, all I can say is 'ouch'.

Mongo! With your thread, I am learning every day! :o :)
Image
A few days ago I wouldn't have known whom Boots Mallory was. But, I just watched Stroheim's Hello Sister (1933) where she plays a sweet girl. :) And now, I learn that she was married to Herbert Marshall!!!

BTW the nude bathing by Dear Myrna is from The Barbarian (1933) by Sam Wood with Ramon Novarro.
