As near as I can tell he first landed in Hollywood in 1935 where his first role would have been in Crime and Punishment.

I post some bit of trivia and you tell me what movie it came from. Movies may be screen or made-for-tv movies as long as they are movies. Then you post a bit of trivia and others guess until they get it. Etc.

After Peter Lorre left Nazi Germany, what was his first major movie role? (The movie title, please. And any other info you care to share.)
I'd say it was Hitchcock's first version of The Man Who Knew Too Much - the version that was made in England.

Lorre's English was very weak at that point, and he had to learn his lines phonetically. Did a very good job of it, too.

What movie received an honorary Academy award (not an Oscar) for its use of color?

The film in question is on everyone's top 100 list. (Vintage Hollywood film, in color - that should narrow it down a bit.)

Well, I know the woman is Julie, but I forgot who the man is. I'd rather be half-right than half-crazy!

So I guess I'm just half-stumped?
(Can I ask half a question?)
