This is a Randolph Scott I didn't know existed. It must have been one of Robert Ryan's first fairly good sized role. He was actually the second lead with Randy. I wouldn't mind seeing this one remade if they just stayed with the story and didn't jazz it up with all kinds of CGI junk. Ryan knows a professor who has an idea to grow wheat all year long in the dry Kansas summer, and the freezing winter, but he is killed before he can share the secret with Randy. Naturally Ryan is accused of killing him, by the town bad guys. Randy is Bat Masterson again, that's 2 or 3 times I've seen him play Bat in a movie. There are also 2 nice female leads in this one, and for jokes you have Gabby Hayes. As I said, it's a good movie, and I would recommend seeing it when you have nothing better to do.
