Here's one more bad film title, apropos of today -- Ash Wednesday (1973). Hunh?

This little idea seems to be taking on a life of its own. And we all reap the benefits.

And Eric is right, the twist on the fondly remembered use of "Usual Suspects" is a gem title.
I agree, kingrat, The Pope of Greenwidh Village would be a better title for a comedy. Perhaps you thought you were going to see The Pope Must Die, title changed by the faint-hearted to The Pope Must Diet. That was a comedy, but you wouldn't know it from the original title.
Love both your lists, Professional Tourist, especially the explanations attached to the "Worsts" list, and agree The Red Balloon is a perfect title. As for Ash Wednesday, maybe it was a typo and the "h" was supposed to be another "s."

Hey Masha, you're sneaking cartoons into your lists. "Easter Yeggs" is a Bugs Bunny short cartoon. It's a good one, too.

I really enjoyed "The Reincarnation of Peter Proud."

Yeah, but sometimes his titles are not-so-descriptive. Like North by Northwest -- doesn't really give any idea of what the picture is about.
