That reports reminds me of a moment in Wishful Drinking, Carrie Fisher's one-woman show, which I saw several years ago. During her performance, Fisher invited a young man from the audience onstage. She then rolled around on the floor with him, wrapping her arms and legs around his body while continuing to deliver her monologue.

Gave new meaning to "Princess Leia."

If they’re going that route they could also use a “real people were killed in the making of this film” for special cases like the gypsy actors in Leni Riefenstahl’s Tiefland.

I enjoyed the open sewer of Off-Topic, that is sewer in the figurative sense, not the literal one. I've never understood why
folks are now so upset about it, even folks who participated in it. Even TCM deleted it after the forum closed, but TCM is a
corporation, so that deletion is easily explained. I enjoy trigger warnings, microaggression warnings, Huck Finn warnings, etc.
Not for themselves, but for how they so easily drive wingnuts up the wall. Keep up the good work. One thing I believe that
was left out of the movie version of Breakfast at Tiffany's was that Holly was a bit of a racist, not an extreme one, but
it's there.

Yeah, she should have gotten with Rooney’s character and the movie ends with them both kicking George or whoever out for not paying the rent on time. That’s a better ending than Truman Capote thought of.

Hear! Hear!

I deplore movies in which animals are harmed and killed. If reviews warned readers, or alerts preceded movies about such content, I would avoid those movies.

I liked the film Adventures of Milo and Otis until LawrenceA told me I didn't want to know how it was made.

Who's upset by it? Calling it a sewer doesn't mean I'm worked up about it. If you can't see why it was the worst part of those message boards, I don't think I could help you figure it out. I also didn't feel the need to change my screen name on here, either, so what do I know?

Don't trash the TCM Off-Topic section because of the political threads. There were a lot of other threads there: opera, musical theater, poetry, etc.

I like the ending of the book better, it's more open-ended and mysterious than the one in the movie, which is the
typical romantic Hollywood finale. For an alternative ending I'd have Holly, who wasn't exactly politically astute,
join the Weather Underground and get blown to bits while trying to place a poorly constructed bomb into a blue
Tiffany's box.

I figure if someone calls something an open sewer that they are at least a bit angry about it, even if it's to a very minor degree.
Things did get rough there every once in a while, but over time that was an expectation. I wouldn't say worst, just different, as
things can get very heated over political topics. I recall when any political discussion in Off Topics was discouraged. I don't know
why TCM suddenly decided to allow it. I really didn't feel a need to change my screen name, I just thought it was time for a
change, seeing as it was a new venue. Vautrin lasted a lot longer than my other half dozen or so names. TCM censors, screw
you.
