In the early 2000s, shortly before he died, I worked on a project with Frederick Knott, who wrote the play and the screenplay of Dial M for Murder, which ran on Broadway October 1952-February 1954. Maurice Evans played Tony Wendice.

Knott was a lovely man. He also wrote the play Wait Until Dark.
