Re: Art
So Lawrence. You seem to have a bit of a predilection for the more macabre when it comes to Art, eh?!
In that case, have you ever heard of the artist Tina Mion? She and her husband Allan Affeldt have owned and restored the historic La Posada Hotel in Winslow, Arizona for about 15 years now. This hotel which sits next to the old Sante Fe (now BNSF) railtracks that parallel much of the old Route 66 (now Interstate-40) in that high desert town was once one of the Fred Harvey chain of hotels that dotted the country during the first half of the 20th century. You're probably familiar with the 1946 musical comedy western film "The Harvey Girls" that starred Judy Garland.
Inside this hotel there's a gallery of Tina's work, and her paintings could definitely be described as being in the macabre and surrealistic vein.
Here's just a few of them:

And so, if you ever find youself standin' on the corner in Winslow Arizona as that old Eagles song goes (and trust me here, there's not much else to do in that sleepy little town OTHER than that AND to stop into this historic hotel and marvel at it, and which btw also boasts a 4-star restaurant called the Turquoise Room) I get the feeling that you'd like looking at Tina's paintings in the flesh.

Re: Art
Hopefully it is ok to share Etsy links of purchasable art! If not, please let me know and I can edit my post. This is not my shop, but one I ran across and immediately fell in love with their art style. I wanted to share this artist's work here, as I thought it would be appreciated by this audience since they have many classic film prints.
I just got this beautiful art print of Chief Brody from Jaws and I am so excited to add it to my classic film actor portrait collection.

More examples of my favorite artist Carlos Schwabe:
Don't know the title of this, but like the colors & sentiment:
"Death of A Gravedigger" I have this print framed in my office above my Cemetery file:
(I especially love the symbolic weeping willow branches above and the early blooming "snowdrops" in the forefront)
