As your attack on me clearly demonstrates. Attacking you? I was merely disagreeing with what you said. And you perceived it as an attack. Perhaps my point has just been made. Dewey...you were the only one in this thread who made it personal. I don't know if you realize it, but there is a difference...

Beda , you and I share similar view points on so many classic movie issues and we disagree on enough things to keep it interesting, so personally I just want to say I always make it a point to check out your threads. And see...the relationship you and I have is exactly what I'm talking about. You a...

Actually, I wasn't 'nervous' in the slightest...nor was I offended, about anything you said about Gary Cooper. And if you had posted that in a different thread, where the actual intent was to talk about Gary Cooper, I WOULD have debated with you. Might even have an an interesting discussion. First ...

I think Sunday's exchange between Mr. Ark and Moira on the SUDDEN FEAR topic is about as close to a heated discussion as we're likely to get on the Oasis boards right now. And I think the reason for this is pretty simple. Back in April, when the migration here began, it was done so because a lot of...

I find it interesting that though we are having new members join not many are posting. Out of the last twenty or so the only real post-ers are SPTO and Mel. I have no idea why. The board is slow sometimes. Maybe that turns poeple off. I even wonder where some of our regular posters have gone. This ...

Re: Controversy can be fun. Really.
Okay...so I just went through this entire message board and found ONE thread to post in. *sigh* . I just don't know...maybe I NEED a certain amount of controversy to get me interested. I need to read and respond to differing opinions. I LIKE a good debate. I'm not talking trolling or flaming here.....

I can't stand any of David Lean's epic films. They're duller than dishwater to me, and those repetitive themes, that just keeping dronning on and on and on... I understand how people can think this. I know I think it myself about Lawrence of Arabia . But I have to admit it made me chuckle, co...

Well, first of all, WWII was not at all the same thing as WWI, Anne. It was NOT about freeing the German people from Hitler's thumb. It was about protected ALL of Europe from a monster bent on world domination, and protecting the Jews in particular from genocide. No offense, but as far as WWII goes?...

I think I must be different from most people, because while Lawrence of Arabia is one of my LEAST favorite movies of all time, Doctor Zhivago is one of my favorites. I think the part I like about it most is the 'Russian-ness' of it. In my experience, Russian culture is very fatalistic, and more than...

^ Yes. I've seen LOST BOYS. That was one of the more current films I was referring to in my initial post. Good film! I think I'm gonna try to get ahold of some of the films in this thread. I know I own VAMPYR, so I could watch that...but the rest I'll have to try and locate.... Thanks for the sugges...

Well, I'll pull out my 'usuals' again, I suppose: 1. Lawrence of Arabia - a four hour film with a story that could have easily been told in two. I mean, ENOUGH already with the camel riding in the desert. We *get* it already! You're in the desert! :P And ya know....the worst part is that after four ...
