Re: Please help me pray for a quick recovery
What a pleasant surprise. An email from Steve with a link to this part of the forum. I may never have found it. I must thank all my new found friends for the good wishes. I am not doing much at the moment but sit around feeling useless. My son is waiting on me hand and foot . I am recovering slowly....

Re: WHAT MUSICALS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
A great list. I was preparing a list, but I give up now. This list is far more comprehensive. One interesting thing I noticed. I was sure I read somewhere that in the movie " A Date With Judy" (1948) Elizabeth Taylor was dubbed by Jane Powell.

Re: WHAT MUSICALS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
Last night I revisited San Francisco (1936) I enjoy this show very much, but as I watched I could not help thinking how some singers seem to present individual songs better than others. In San Francisco Jeanette sings “A Heart That`s Free”, a song sung by Deanna Durbin in the movie “100 men And A Gi...

Isn't it? I don't ask for much.... nice clothes; hair, face and figure like Jeanne Crain; and Dana Andrews as my boyfriend. That's all. :D Jeanne Crain did have a great face and figure. She certainly was not your typical mother of seven. Dana Andrews as your boyfriend? Why is it that women seem to ...

And at this point he sweeps the tablecloth out from under the entire table setting!he does this with impeccable rhythm, just as the music finishes up.
I tried that once. I was about 10 or 12 years old. Suffice to say that I was severely reprimanded.

Re: WHAT MUSICALS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
So This Is Love (1953) I watched a number of films yesterday while waiting for the worst to happen. One of the films I watched was So This Is Love (1953). This is a biopic based on Grace Moore`s autobiography. Surprisingly the film follows the book fairly closely. Kathryn Grayson plays the role of ...

Re: WHAT MUSICALS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
Rose Marie (1936) What a great show. I think that there has never been a team like Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy. I also have in my collection Rose Marie (1954). Again I believe that the original is the better, even though the second version is in colour, and features my favourite actress. A N...

Re: WHAT MUSICALS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
I have just watched Roberta (1935) What a great show. Even the comedy is a bit subtle. 24 year old Ginger Rogers sings to 36 year old Fred Astaire the song “Lovely To Look At”, which includes the line “imagine finding a boy like you”. A boy? Now that is comedy. To me it is far better than the remake...

Re: WHAT MUSICALS HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
Tonight I watched Song Of Russia (1944)
A great movie, Starring Robert Taylor and Susan Peters. There is something for everyone, a beautiful love story, beautiful music and plenty of action. It begins in pre World War two Russia and includes the German invasion.
