Two other movies come to mind that deal with this subject. 1. Mrs. Miniver, and 2. Until They Sail. All three films portray the conditions of the people left on the home front. One in America, one in England, and finally in New Zealand. And such diverse points of view from all of them. Between the t...

New Code of Ethics at TCM City
Has everyone seen and read these? It gets a little involved in some areas but the gist of it seems to cover most of the problems. I notice CS has not posted since 7:00 a.m. this morning. Possibly things are better?

It seems like all the significant deleting has begun since vecchiolarry made his stupendous announcement about his cousin. He also announced that he had infotrmed TCM admin what he and his cousin had found, and that's when the deleting started. Apparently he made it easier for them to find the culpr...

Moira: No argument with your analysis at all. Holden and Youngs' characters and interchange are definitely the main focus, I just can't help looking over at the 'other guy' whenever he's on camera. As for Exe. Suite, as I said, all my years in the bored room is probably what causes my interes...

JulieMarch4th: Her site is Nora Roberts.com, and I signed up as membership. I saw the movies, but wasn't thrilled with the choices of actors. I would love to see some of the J.D.Robb mysteries made into movies, but I can't see anyone, at this time who could effectively play Rourke except maybe Georg...

Stewart plays such a great father whether it's for young kids like 'Mr. Hobbs takes a Vacation', 'Take her she's Mine', or 'Dear Brigette', his total lack of knowing what is going on is brilliantly amusing, and as Dad to young adults as in Shenendoah is gripping. It, too, is one that I watch from th...

Destry Rides Again!
After several failed attempts, after all these years I finally saw Destry Rides Again today, it was just starting when I woke up at 4:30. I saw it years ago as a child, but never managed to since. It's always been on at an inconvenient time for me. This was probably the original comedy western. Jimm...

Old TV Westerns
Most of you know I love Westerns by now. I thought I'd start this thread for anyone who watches the old series like I do. The Rifleman: Today was a good one. It was a two-part run back to back today. Lucas, Mark, and Micah were all caught by some really wierdo bandits and their method of escape was ...

Executive Suite and Rachel and the Stranger
I'm not sure where this should go, so I'm sticking it here in General for anyone who may want to comment. These two movies are a couple of my 'really likes' ones. There is something about Executive Suite that draws me every time it's on. Maybe it's my years of working for all the high mucky mucks at...

 Ghost Whisperer  Lately I've been screaming at the TV for Melinda to tell Delia about her secret before poor Delia goes boffo. I like this one better than Medium because I just don't care for Arqiette. or the guy who plays her husband. The kids are cute, and I love the Police Inspector....

Oh God!!! Someone kick me! I just reread my post of thanks and realized I had moira on my mind to not forget her for all she's done, and I put her name in, instead of pktrekgirl for getting my Avatar done. pktrekgirl, I am sooooooo sorry! I swear it was a senior moment! Thank you for all of your he...

Seeing what everyone else reads makes me feel like a dummy, but non-fiction is just not my thing. I can read a fiction novel all night long, but pick up a non-fiction and I'm asleep in 5 minutes. I spent my life on facts and figures both at home and at work, and now, they just knock me off my feed. ...
