Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Yesterday I tuned in A SUMMER PLACE just as Beulah Bondi was asking Richard Egan to fix the leak in her convenience. I'd forgotten about that! Richard Egan can fix my leak any time. I always laugh at Beulah's prurient little speech to Dorothy about getting involved with a married man. "The qui...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Apparently we're now on the verge of WWIII.

So I just made myself a chocolate ice cream soda and will await A GLOBAL AFFAIR with Bob Hope.

That's about all a film fan can do at this point.

Re: I Just Watched...

So I turn on TCM and there is Jean Harlow and Robert Taylor kissing. I stupidly think it's the beginning of PERSONAL PROPERTY, only to see "The End" appear one minute later.

Don't you hate that?

I was so looking forward to this movie but forgot what time it came on.

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

I was watching a Rick Steves special on Egypt where we were showed the very well-preserved mummy of a 3,000 year old pharoah.

Made me feel positively embryonic.

However, I do draw the line at Hume Cronyn.

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

If I recall correctly there were quite a few famous actors who played Oscar Wilde himself in films about the trials, including Peter Finch and even Robert Morley.

Re: Noir Alley

Oh joy!! THE BIG KNIFE is coming on the 27th and 28th!! Wonder what Eddie has to say about this laugh fest noir. It's a treasure trove of campy good badness, including hilariously gauche "ironic" musical touches emphasizing the existential and metaphorical aspects of Charlie's compromised ...

Re: I Just Watched...

Dateline, The People vs. OJ Simpson Nobody benefitted more from those two brutal murders in my opinion than Chris Kardashian and her trashy family. Someone else might have benefitted too in an indirect way. The murders occurred in a house that was right across the street from where 30s actress Glor...

I've read that some people think that Sheba commercial is "amusingly over-the-top" but not me. And I am not a special snowflake/school monitor/politically correct type.

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Maxwell Caufield must have enjoyed removing his clothes. On the DVD set for Dynasty II: The Colbys, he admitted in an interview (filmed in 2016) included as a bonus on the set that the producers of the upcoming show were told to go see him in a play to see if he was right for the show, and it was s...
