Re: A Christmas Album
Moira, what a fabulous piece on Marsha Hunt. Such an interesting woman, so glad she's still with us. In a bit of synchronicity, I watched Price & Prejudice last evening, and I always delight at her too brief appearences. She's wonderfully daffy in this film.

Oh, The Wild Wild West, Friday nights. I had the biggest crush on....
wait for it
Ross Martin as Artemus Gordon. I also loved Michael Dunn, of course.
I really should revisit these, it was enormous fun.

Re: Aggie's Place -- Open 24 Hours
Thank you very much, rudyfan! I hope one day to have a full-featured web site for Agnes at that address, as you have for Mr. Valentino. For now it's just a blog, but it's a start. :) If you'd see the first iteration of my site which was coded by me, poor Rudy sure deserved better. :-) Mine's not ev...

This is simply fabulous news. I will add it to the links on my site, to be sure.Professional Tourist wrote:Just thought I would let you all know that I've purchased Aggie a little gift for her upcoming birthday -- her own domain on the World Wide Web:

Re: *CANDIDS*
Fabulous shot of Anna Sten. I've wanted to see Nana again for decades. I saw it when I was a kid on local tv, never again. I liked it and then later read what a drubbing it got and how really bad it was and have wanted to revisit it, in case I'm totally insane.

I could not let a star with a car go by without adding a shot of Valentino, Joe. Okay, so this is just the chassis he was working on. This was on his birthday in 1926.

Re: Conrad Veidt's Most chilling Performance ?
He's pretty scary, and highly sexual, as the Grand Vizier lusting after June Duprez in The Thief of Baghdad . I will have to watch Thief the next time it turns up on TCM. I have never seen it , to the best of my recollection. :( It's a beautiful film, and I agree, Veidt is very menacing. I think he...

I'm totally with you, PT. Heston has never been attractive to me. He was often muscular, but, just not my cuppa tea. ymmv, of course.Professional Tourist wrote:Frankly, I don't know what she saw in Charleton Heston:

I don't know if they'll ship to Bagdad, rudyfan, but they do ship all over the U.S. :) PT, Gaspars looks gr...

Re: Whatcha cookin' for Thanksgiving?
mMMM, linguicia, mmmmmmmmmmmm I'm on my own this year and the typical Thanksgiving is the anti=Thanksgiving meal. Dungeness crab season starts the week before, usually. And that is usually on the menu. Not this year. I've never, ever cooked a turkey. So, since it's me, roasting a chicken, mak...

I love him as Oberon in Midsummer Night's Dream. I know it's the costume and I'd love to have a nice photo of him from that film, and have never run across one.
