Re: WHAT'S HAPPENED TO KINGRAT????

I noticed earlier today while searching for some text in the messages, the search came back with the contents of a specific message that I was looking for. However, there was no user name for the message and when I went to the topic thread the message was not there. Just mentioning this in case it ...

Re: WHAT'S HAPPENED TO KINGRAT????

The registration issues are because of spambots and fake accounts...if people like that didn't exist we could just have an instant register/activate/start posting process. It's disgusting to me all the people out there with nothing better to do than try to scam people or just try to flood the forum ...

Re: WHAT'S HAPPENED TO KINGRAT????

I wish I knew what happened to those who were deleted. There is absolutely no record in any logs of these accounts being modified. Sadly, because the posts are gone, and not just marked "anonymous" (which apparently is a possibility when an account is deleted, but didn't happen here), I ha...

Re: Disney's "Zorro" TV series (1958-1959)

Tyrone Power was an excellent Zorro, but Guy had a charisma about him as Don Diego that beats all. I think Antonio Banderas was the most convincing Zorro, in costume, but Williams was the total package. My rankings of Zorros (Zorri?) that I have seen: Guy Williams Tyrone Power Antonio Banderas...

Re: Disney's "Zorro" TV series (1958-1959)

I love this show. Guy Williams is my favorite Zorro. I got a copy of the show on DVD many years ago (when it was still readily available and cheap, as opposed to now!), and I rewatch it every few years.

Re: Jason Isaacs plays Cary Grant in "Archie"

The actress playing Dyan Cannon definitely had the look, and her acting seemed to get better as the show went along. I will say that none of the other cameo appearances by actors playing famous other actors (or directors) were at all evocative of their counterparts though. Hitchy was overweigh...

Re: Jason Isaacs plays Cary Grant in "Archie"

I finished up watching the miniseries this morning. Jason Isaacs did a fine job as Cary Grant, and the actress playing his mother was excellent as well. The show was too rushed really, though, trying to cram way too much into less than four hours. Still, I'll take anything Cary Grant related that I ...

Re: Gay and Streaming

Sorry for your loss jimimac. They show the code in reply boxes so you can insert things, put replies intermingled with the other post (by adding quote tags) and customize your reply. For myself, on a tablet I avoid all that and just make sure to put my reply at the end after the last [/quote] marker.

Re: Gay and Streaming

You aren't banned (obviously) jimimac. I didn't say YOU had to be a movie nut...I said that's why I was here. As to the "antiquated forum", it's actually very up to date and still maintained and updated regularly. You just don't like the way posting works here. There's nothing I can do abo...

Re: Gay and Streaming

The other forum is a Mac related forum and I mostly go there for alternatives to Apple like Android. I didn't expect such an explosive reply Lomm. It does me no good here to be pleasant. I don't come here to be part of a movie forum and that was never the case before. I lack the knowledge many here...

Re: Gay and Streaming

Frankly, I don't understand Holden's strident objections to this issue which seem way out of proportion to what's been done. If it bothers him so much, just ignore the sub-forum. It seems we're back to the LIKE button all over again. It's just a message board. There are far more disturbing things g...

Re: Gay and Streaming

The only thing that might be confusing is the solid question Lommn asked using The Birdcage as an example. E.g. if I was posting about The Big Combo and the two gay hoods (Fante and Mingo), as well as other non-gay related points about the film, what sub-forum should I use? The crime\noir one or th...

Re: Gay and Streaming

OK, so having looked this thread over now, I'm still torn because there seem to be some valid reasons on both sides of the equation. On the one hand, as a longtime supporter of LGBTQ rights, I'm inclined to create this forum just to show said support. On the other hand, the point about segregating f...

Re: Explanation of New Shift in Streaming

While I subscribe to a couple of streaming services, a huge part of my streaming is my own collection, ripped from DVDs and Blu-ray discs and stored on a machine at home. I can stream my own stuff anywhere in the world on my own devices, or on a smart TV at a hotel that allows me to install the app ...
