Miss G and Pktrekgirl-- thanks for your help in trying to find a good image of this movie. I found the small one on Thursday and hoped a better one could be found. About Coop and the camera -- I think I'd heard the same thing about Garbo? That in life, it didn't look like anything, but on film the ...

Well, even if it can be cut down to something that can be made into an avatar, it would be swell. If I had a full sized version of the photo I have, I could have cut it down to a shoulder shot sort of thing and made it into an avatar...but the copy I have is so small to begin with that it wouldn't ...

Yes...wasn't it one of the directors who said that during shooting, they often thought (paraphrased) "OMG! This is gonna be the worst picture EVER! He is just terrible!" But then, they would get into the rushes and say "OMG! This is gonna be the best picture EVER! He is just fabulous...

OK ladies and gentlemen---I'm busy at work and just wild to come here and post----just like Sugarpuss said, "I love classic actresses, but I LOVE classic actors!" so I can't wait to get in my top five. For now, I just want to say how much I'm loving everyone's lists ( Oh my word , My Man G...

:o One of John Ford's greatest films is the little seen Silent feature FOUR SONS (1928). I want Fox to release this film on DVD so badly! It really needs to be done because it is Ford's finest Silent film! THE IRON HORSE (1924), with George O' Brien, and Madge Bellemy, is the only John Ford Silent ...

Well you all just know I'm gonna be on this trail!! I was looking at some clips on Gary Cooper's funeral and there was Ford, one of those attending. I said to myself "So they did know eachother, well enough for Pappy to be one of the few invited to the funeral." And I added to myself, &quo...

Thanks to the Brooklyn Girl for bringing this thread over! I had no idea about Bruce Cabot's real name! Was he French, French-American or a Canuck? Tres interressante! He is in a lot of my favorite movies. He also played a devilish "role" in Errol Flynn's memoirs. And nice picture of young...

Re: "Dogs never bite me. Just humans."

I'm so glad to see Marilyn Monroe on a coupla lists...She's always been one of my favorites. I would have to add "Niagara" and "The Seven Year Itch" to the ones mentioned as my favorites. She is "just elegant" in "The Seven Year Itch-"showing us her comic abi...

I will have to rent the dvd for the commentary. I always try to catch it whenever it's televised. I think Conte and Susan Hayward make a great pair, and it's my favorite of his movies. But yes, Eddie G. gives another GREAT performance (and what esle is new?) Mankiewicz is one of my favorite director...

If pinned down to name one must-see performance by Spence, and one movie by Lang, FURY is my choice. I enjoyed reading the others thoughts on this powerful movie. I agree that it still carries relevance and its impact in undiminished over time. It is simply relentless . http://i160.photobucket.com/a...

JDB---I like your post about Bus Stop---she was luminous, indeed. Billy Wilder spoke of the way she photographed, calling it "flesh impact", meaning her skin photographed so real it seemed like you touch it. He went on to add only Garbo possessed this remarkable quality in front of the cam...

Hi - I have to post here, too, and hopefully here I can keep up! I LOVE Bengal Lancers. I think it's just about the perfect buddy picture. In fact, if I could find a picture of it, I'd like it for my avatar. I looked around yesterday and didn't find a good one. With all three heros. Julie Julie, th...
