Re: SPOILERS!
That’s Ferris Buellers Day Off. I never even saw the film and I know that one.

Re: WHAT FOREIGN FILMS HAVE YOU WATCHED LATELY?
Nostos the Return- I have watched it several times in completion. Reading the Odyssey in conjunction with viewing it really helped decipher what was going on. It is one of the most beautiful films I ever watched and I can’t stop shilling it here. It is thematically like the literary adaptations of P...

Il ritorno, nostos (1989)
An Italian film available on YouTube. It is an adaptation of books 5 and 6 of the Odyssey of Homer. The ones with Calypso and Nausicaa. This explores a different aspect to the character on his voyage home. He struggles with ptsd from the Trojan war and is more into Calypso than in the book where he ...

Re: I Just Watched...
thanks, LH noticed this bad sound sync also, but thought maybe it was DTV prob. Obviously no one @ TCM checks this stuff BEFORE airing  https://media.giphy.com/media/BLJy2x6QwzgdrCfAlD/giphy.gif I left the whole thing on in the background hoping it would fix itself somewhere down the line but...

Re: I Just Watched...
This morning on TCM, the audio to the Smartest Girl in Town was behind the movie by about half a minute. It’s sad because I was going to watch that. It might be an issue with all prints available of the film in which case they just shouldn’t have scheduled it if there aren’t any decent copies.

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES
Maybe after marrying Arthur Miller. His library would have made a significant addition to hers. But I've read that even before she had a fairly large collection of books. Whether that's true or just the old Hollywood p.r. I'm not sure. I'm still skeptical about Jayne Mansfield's sky high IQ. Her en...

Re: Least and Most Favorite Movie of the week
Diamonds of the Night might be in the running for most boringest movie of all times award. Gives Chantal Akerman a run for her money.

Re: Posts for Peebs
At the other forum we haven't talked about ex-users for over 6 months, but in your case, we are going to make an exception. Can you link the thread you are talking about? I wanna read it. :D Sorry, but I was joking. At the other site we really don't talk about folks at this forum. Even the 2 users ...

In my opinion, what happens on that other forum should stay there. First, I don't answer to you. Second, mind your own business. Being permanently banned by your fearless leader over there is still my business. I would look at the site (maybe) but can't. According to the owners of the site (ProBoar...

I have it recorded so good to know. It might profit you to know also: IMDb.com rated it: 7.4/10, rottentomatoes.com rated it: 96% on the TomatoMeter with an Audience Score of: 84%. Typical reviews: Film Journal International: "Serious movie buffs and die-hard horror fans alike will want to see...

Re: WHAT FOREIGN FILMS HAVE YOU WATCHED LATELY?
It made me want to frow up. What ever happened to taste!? We are not safe, I tell you, we are not safe. The world has become more and more decadent. LoL. Ptui! Yes, Chantal Ackerman makes me want to throw up too. She should’ve invested her energy and time in finding a decent film editor. ;)

Re: WHAT FOREIGN FILMS HAVE YOU WATCHED LATELY?
I just finished Black Cat and I found a massive plothole. If the mother was willing to damn herself to hell for her son since her love was that strong then why did she care about him cutting off the arm of her temporal ghost form? She was going to go to Hell for all eternity in a day anyways. It jus...

Re: TCM Premieres....
“Ohayo”/ Good morning (1959) certainly isn’t a premiere. They play that Ozu film almost every other month. It is maybe listed under its alternative title “Good Morning” in your database or it might falsely be listed as from 1962. Thanks for the comment. TCM is inconsistent in the title and release ...
