The Leo Frank trial and his lynching were also the subject of the musical PARADE, which was revived on Broadway last year with Ben Platt as Leo Frank.

cmovieviewer, cinemainternational, Swithin, Bronxgirl and KayFrancis all give, Majority of One thumbs up! There's an episode of BEWITCHED from the fourth season where a Japanese businessman (a client that McMann & Tate is trying to land) falls for Aunt Clara, who's on the outs with her warlock ...

Snapped Woman opens her door to a person dressed as a clown who shoots her (fatally) in the face. Victim's son tells police he saw shooter running away in a pair of combat boots. Later a detective tells us "The murderer was cunning, knowing a quick escape was necessary, he didn't wear those gi...

Re: BREE DANIELS: SCORPIO RISING?

NoShear, thanks for starting this thread. There is something about KLUTE and some observations about the name of Jane Fonda's character in that movie that I've wanted to post about for awhile, but I didn't want to post it in one of the general topic threads because I knew that it would ultimately ge...

Re: Celebrities In the News

We don't have a transcript, but from what has been posted on X (aka Twitter) he supposedly said that Barbra Streisand was a genius but that he didn't listen to her direction because women shouldn't be in positions of power.

Joni Mitchell's song "I Don't Know Where I Stand" almost never fails to bring tears to my eyes if I am truly listening to it. Such a beautiful melody! And the lyrics wonderfully express how it feels to realize you're falling in love with someone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcrwnlDDOZs...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

I always loved Barbara Baxley's speaking voice, which got her many a voiceover spot. Barbara Baxley had small, uncredited but very memorable role as the patronizing nurse for Raymond Massey's character in EAST OF EDEN after he had a stroke. https://i.imgur.com/7HL05Hy.png https://i.imgur.com/tbZ3Tg...

I mentioned Barbara Baxley a while back. She wasn't a big star or a glamorpuss, but I always thought she was as cute as a button and with those big Bette Davis eyes. Maybe they wouldn't let Cary be the murderer a la Suspicion . https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/exorcist9990/images/5/5b/Barbara_Ba...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Yep, Holden, that scene was included and has been at least for the times that TCM has aired MARTY. It was always cut decades ago whenever I'd watch this movie on television back in the day and can almost understand why -- Clara's monologue to her parents seems awkward, out of place -- in fact doesn...

(According to comedian KATHY GRIFFIN, she visited CHER at home in Malibu and to her surprise, CHER wasn’t wearing a wig, and even more surprisingly: CHER’s REAL HAIR is in fact “CHER HAIR”- long thick and black.) Yes, Cher has said that she has worn wigs for decades to protect her real hair from be...

Re: What Horror and Sc-Fi films have you seen lately?

A friend of mine from college who is a fan of Anne Rice's writing was disappointed with both the INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE movie and the QUEEN OF THE DAMNED movie. She said that Stuart Townsend was a better fit visually based on Anne Rice's description of Lestat, but (according to my friend at lea...

Re: What Horror and Sc-Fi films have you seen lately?

Well, I watched Queen of the Damned (2002) on Tubi. As for Tom Cruise versus Stuart Townsend, these two movies are sufficiently different in tone that I can neither imaging Cruise portraying Lestat in Queen of the Damned nor Townsend portraying Lestat in Interview with the Vampire . Personally, if ...
