Re: I Just Watched...
She Said (2022) by Maria Schrader is excellent. It is the story of two New York Times reporters who uncover the Harvey Weinstein story. It plays out like the All the President's Men of the burgeoning Me Too movement. Jennifer Ehle is my current pick for the Feinberg Best Supporting Actress Award. I...

Re: Bad Movies You Love
I just watched one of my favourites again for the fourth time. Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970). I don't even know if I would call if a bad film. But its tendency to appear a bad film and the way it excels at that put it in my top ten films of 1970. It's incredibly fun.

Re: Oscar Nominations
The biggest Oscar joke of all has to be Top Gun: Maverick's nomination for Best Screenplay. It has the most inane dialogue I have heard in a long-time.

Re: Oscar Nominations
Also, Feinberg brought up the diversity push, and the people who get angry over omissions are running rampant over the Best Actress category, and the Sally Kirkland like nomination of Andrea Risebourough. I will admit being surprised that Viola Davis missed to Ana De Armas in a much despised film, ...

Re: Oscar Nominations
I'm curious to see Everything Everywhere All at Once , because I don't know anyone who has liked it, and a few friends have actually hated it! It's very hyper, and loud, and long, and sentimental, and, for me, a lot less clever than it thinks it is. It's also very silly, maybe the silliest Best Pic...

Re: Awards for 2022 movies
Cue the laughter, its time for the coveted 2022 Feinberg Foreign Language Film Awards! My top FF films of 2022 of the 30 that I have seen are …. 1. All Quiet on the Western Front (2022) Edward Berger, Germany 2. Athena (2022) Romain Gavras, France 3. Close (2022) Lukas Dhont, Netherlands 4. Holy Spi...

France, Japan and Germany. But it is a tough call. France gets my top spot mainly because of its post 1980 films.

I would recommend seeing Gina Lollabrigida in Bread, Love and Dreams (1953) with Vittorio De Sica. Made the same year as Beat the Devil.

Re: Which Comedian is like Fingers on a Chalkboard for you?
And what a swell guy ... “I made me. My talent, my tenacity, my courage. My no fear of risk and my natural inclination to stay alive. You have nothing to do with any of it. You’re just a timid little soul that’s a parasite on life. Now get out of my face.” - Jerry Lewis to a fan who was upset that ...

Re: Which Comedian is like Fingers on a Chalkboard for you?
To me The Bellboy is one of the best all-carried-by-one-person comedies ever. But hey, I'm a fan of Jerry Lewis, while clearly many people are turned off by his antics. Yeah, I have to admit here James that there are a few scenes in this particular Jerry Lewis flick that I recall having made me LOL...
