Re: In my own little world

Masha, just to know that you're not alone. Have been having similar temps here with 74 days of 100+ temps - over half of them 105+. I'm currently wiring a house addition wing that was started many years ago and delayed because of time, $, and med issues. Pretty much the same situation of hiring help...

After reading the review here of Serpent of the Nile, I'm not sure he did. 😆

Re: Memes

Horse & sandwich reminds me of the Welsh pony that my in-laws had. He begged for one while the kids were eating sandwiches, so they gave him one. Now picture a horse trying to get peanut butter unstuck from his mouth with his hind legs. Took a half hour, but he finally succeeded. Kids offered hi...

But wasn't Rosebud the macguffin that the reporters were chasing?

Not much of a fan of Kane or Wells although I do appreciate his tech innovations and contributions.

Re: I Just Watched...

I could never get into Cabaret. Me either. I have the DVD of Victor/Victoria on Broadway. ... It may help that I am nuts about Julie Andrews. I'm a fan too. Just frosting on the cake that the movie has James Garner and Robert Preston too. Wonder if I'd miss them too much in the Broadway version. Wh...

Our TV has the various connectors, but the cable box and Blu-ray are only HDMI. Oh my TVs are all hdmi - it's just capturing where I'm still in the component world. Had a really great cable box with 5 tuners and a big drive for dvr too, but it died and the new cable boxes are like you said: all hdm...

No DVR. I use(d) a capture device that records component output to my hard disk. Personal use only. Haven't yet moved to the hdmi era.

Re: TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES NEWS

I suspect there'd be many like me who've already recorded most of the movies that I'm interested in from the channel and now rarely even watch TCM. Guess I'd seen the handwriting on the wall more than a decade ago. There just aren't enough new things shown there that I'm interested in enough to just...
