Re: I Just Watched...

So interesting. Everyone I know loved Seinfeld. Thought the show was hilarious. It's only on this site and our old TCM site that I've experienced negative comments about the show. I agree, the show had a lot of NY humor. The Dick Van Dyke Show was like that too. Yes, Jewish humor on both shows. If ...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Fair enough, Dargo. But maybe you're more a fan of "Girl For All Seasons/(Love Will) Turn Back The Hands Of Time," which features Judy Garland's other daughter as the Girl For Summer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2ayatkkpG8 Eeh, not bad I suppose, Holden. However when it comes to this...

Re: OBITUARIES

All that I knew of it is that police on the chase first arrested John Elway because the APB said to stop a slow-moving white Bronco. The office wit spent a great deal of time mansplaining why his joke was the most funny ever. I might have had a hint of an inkling that: 'OJ' was a sports figure. The...

Re: OBITUARIES

It's an extraordinary book. OJ had no 'dream team.' The prosecution was one of the most inept in history. Yep Feinberg, exactly my thoughts as I watched the closing arguments on TV back then. (...I remember winching at how clueless Marcia Clark's summation was and actually said right out loud at on...

Re: OBITUARIES

I'm one of the few Americans who never saw any of the trial, so my filter is just based on what the media & others have said afterwards. I was living in London almost the entire time. I returned to the US just a day before the trial ended. All that I knew of it is that police on the chase first...

Re: Errol Flynn

If there are any hardcore fellow Flynns out there, I really wanted to share this video that I just finished. Wearing my heart on my sleeve a bit, because it was a ton of work and a labor of love...but I hope someone might enjoy. Another beautifully edited video here, Darla! (...thanks for posting!)

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Yes! "Cool Rider" is the bomb! It's another "how can anyone not love it" songs for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSImPWqj0ZA Eeh! Sorry Holden, but that little Honda CL160 Scrambler isn't all THAT "cool", dude! And who around here would know best about THAT than ...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Dargo, you are free here to discuss motorcyles all you want! This mode of transportation is actually an integral form of transportation in many a movie. Even Andy Hardy. (he has a man-to-man talk with Lewis Stone about owning one if I remember correctly) Thanks, Bronxie! Appreciate your encourageme...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Okay, sorry, but I now have one more comment to make about David Janssen. Well okay, not particularly about him, but an observation about the TV series he will forever be most associated with. The other night while I watched an episode of 'The Fugitive' on MeTV (hadn't watched one in years) and whic...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Speaking of Troy Donahue (who many of you might remember I've always called Fishface) Oh, Bronxgirl, you're wrong for that. I didn't want to laugh, but I did . . . Interestingly I've always thought The Creature from the Black Lagoon was sexier than Troy Donahue, even though there is a piscine resem...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

One more note about David Janssen here...

He could, unfortunately, be tallied into the same column as actors like Errol Flynn and William Holden.

(...in that "Their alcohol problem would contribute to their quick ageing and their premature deaths" column, that is)
