Re: WHAT HAPPENED TO 40 GUNS???

Like I'd tune in because Dave Karger is hosting the segment? I'd be ok with no presentations at all. Rarely do they tell me anything I don't already know. I've come to the point I can't stand the Mank anymore. The others I can take or leave, they don't bother me as much. No one could ever replace R...

Re: WHAT HAPPENED TO 40 GUNS???

Just saw a new promo for Noir Alley (as if they didn't have enough of them) -- with Eddie Muller wearing some kind of 1940's camel hair coat, walking the streets of Frisco looking "tough". So silly and frankly tiresome already imo. Forgive my ignorance on these matters, but don't all thes...

Re: I Just Watched...

I just watched Cheyenne, episode Fury at Rio Hondo. This was a remake of Hawks\Bogie's To Have and Have Not. Most of the dialog, as well as associated action, was scene-for-scene \ word-for-word. There was the two women (Bacall and Moran), as well as the sidekick (Brennan). The setting was the Mexi...

Re: WHAT HAPPENED TO 40 GUNS???

The same thing happened with Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid - after the failed broadcast it was later posted to WatchTCM along with the introduction and wrap-up. I would imagine that TCM has to prepare the video for streaming and it may be a separate production path. It is possible that this path worked...

Re: AFI's 25 GREATEST MOVIE MUSICALS OF ALL TIME

I love Li'l Abner and have the soundtrack on my phone. When I was a kid, I had both the original Broadway cast album and the film soundtrack LPs. I love the way the opening number -- "It's a Typical Day in Dogpatch USA" -- introduces all the characters. I saw the Encores production at NY ...

Re: Noir Alley

Happens all the time. The bad guys are sadists or have a bizarre sense of humor and come up with some elaborate way to kill people instead of just shooting them in the head. Simplify, simplify. Yeah, I really enjoyed that sequence. Why not just shoot them? Much easier. Yep, pretty much just a varia...

Re: AFI's 25 GREATEST MOVIE MUSICALS OF ALL TIME

My favorite movie musical never makes any lists ever. I saw a summer stock production of Li'l Abner as a kid and have loved it ever since. Interestingly, Paramount Pictures backed the creation of the Broadway show (1956) with the specific intention of making a movie version. The movie (1959) kept m...

Re: I Just Watched...

Yes, Alma is back as a Spanish name, pronounced "Ahlma." The name from the past was "you can call me Al-ma." What movie character was named Alma? I seem to remember one. Not a character, but Alma Reville was a script writer, assistant director and had various other behind the sc...

Re: I Just Watched...

My introduction to daytime soaps was the ABC soaps. The woman that my sister & I stayed with after school recorded all of the ABC soaps. The one my sister and I liked the best was ALL MY CHILDREN. We didn't really care for GENERAL HOSPITAL. Our aunt (my mother's sister) later introduced us to D...

Devil Girl from Mars (1954) An isolated Scottish inn has as guests one night in winter: a model who is running away from her married boyfriend, a hiker who is an escaped convict, a professor who lost his way while going to investigate a meteorite, a dipsomaniac reporter doubling as the professor's ...

Both are on the list.
Well, I just noticed that 12 & 13 didn't make the image paste in, so I'm guessing Chicago is in there somewhere.

I know Moulin Rouge was 25th, but I'm not seeing Chicago on the original post.
