Re: I Just Watched...

If you want to see a good Bob Hope and Lucille Ball movie, watch THE FACTS OF LIFE. Not CRITIC'S CHOICE. Bob Hope was more a comedian versus an actor. I may have missed him playing a straight unfunny part. Wouldn't expect it. Lucille Ball was funny without trying. Yours, Mine and Ours would have be...

Re: BREE DANIELS: SCORPIO RISING?

Fonda is a Sagittarius Sun. (Moon in Leo, Capricorn Rising) My favorite performance of Jane's is BAREFOOT IN THE PARK. Great supporting cast -- Robert Redford (at ease in comedy), Charles Boyer and Mildred Natwick. Shama-Shama! I have a Bad Moon Rising with CCR. As for Jane, On Golden Pond is my fa...

How old does he look Kay?
He is amazing smart and well skilled for such a youngster.
Then again, I just looked and George Lucas was born in 1944.
One of my favorites, American Graffiti, was made in 1973. 29!

Re: Banned for Trolling

MeTV has resumed operation. It is a not so big TV channel in the SF Bay Area.
The channel may have been down.

Re: All In The Family- Started Off Great But Later Went Downhill

I always felt the show was too corny. Archie was goofy as was Edith. Chances are I was not paying attention to the message from some episodes. It is on MeTV on Sunday nights but I don't go out of my way to watch it. The most memorable episode to me was with Sammy Davis Jr. It is interesting to see t...

Re: Banned for Trolling

I was recently sent a notification that a thread I posted in, the final post, was locked. Assumed Lomm was doing some housekeeping. Wondering if there's a connection? For the record, I'm a guy, but used a beautiful female image for a while as my avatar. <grin> I know speedracer5 is a lady. I called ...

Re: All Things Streaming

Well, Xfinity has a new streaming service called StreamSaver. You must be an Xfinity Internet subscriber. Netflix (ads)/Peacock (ads)/Apple TV+. $15/month. Philo is raising their price from $25 to $28 per month for new subscribers. But you get AMC+ included versus being an add-on. The free channels ...

Lorna,
This is David Froman from Matlock, who otherwise was bald on top.
This is a link versus an image.

Re: Humorous Memes

I can relate. Used to climb inside the duvet cover when changing it. Then I learned the inside-out roll-up method. So much easier. After years of gently scrunching and pulling up panty hose straight….the technique becomes a quick skill for changing your duvet cover. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/3...

The good news is the song is short. More Surf music from Accuradio

Re: Coming up on TCM...

I guess I'm different. I grew up hating Fred MacMurray because of the Disney films and didn't become a fan until I saw Double Indemnity. (and of course all of us are using "hating" very loosely). Hate is a strong word. Loathe works better for me. I've unfortunately seen Double Indemnity i...

Re: Vietnam War essentially ignored - Again!

I don’t for a second miss the old TCM forum. Don’t have a clue about the TB site and don’t care. Banned forever I suppose. Things are allowed here that TCM Mod 1 wouldn’t allow. Things go off-topic here and the eventually fizzle out. That’s how I see it. I was in a minority of people who enjoyed Tif...

Re: What are you listening to?

I've been listening to an audiobook of Harper Lee's TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD read by Sissy Spacek. I'm not really a fan of the movie adaptation (I mean, it's okay), but I do recall liking the novel when I read it in high school although I haven't re-read it since then. The book is told in the first pe...

Re: What are you listening to?

I found this quite by accident and "The Needle" caught my eye. It is from the Netherlands, which explains different equipment. Mr. Radio Guy is fascinated by the Grundig record player. It resembles the old BSR turntables but is not a changer. Amazing to me that it has variable speed contro...
