Down by the old mill stream..... Nice change from returning GIs whose world has been turned upside down or aliena...

Re: TCM announces it is sunsetting the TCM Forums
I love Ben's spiel about how the boss man is really a big fan of classic movies. Sounds like dialogue right out of Sunset Boulevard . So he's bringing in Jack's old desk. Okay. Why not also dust off Jack's old casting couch? It would make everything appear much more authentic. Hey babe, let's movie....

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES
Especially if Foster has blond hair. The carrot top look in Frenzy takes away from the MC resemblance. I looked at the Frenzy entry in Wiki and Caine was Hitch's first choice for the role of Bob Rusk. Caine turned it down, as one might expect, because he found the character and apparently the whole ...

Re: What are you listening to?
I bought a few double albums on one CD and the English Beatle albums, but otherwise not many duplications.
I probably have some albums I'm not that interested in anymore, but I've kept them anyway. I like most of
Yoko's songs on Double Fantasy.

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES
Foster was indeed very creepy in that role. I wonder if Caine was ever considered for the part. It was right in his old backyard and Foster even looks a bit like Caine. At least the bad guy in Sleuth was more palatable than the necktie killer. I did see Frenzy when it first came out. By that time th...

Re: Underground’ Host Millie De Chirico Interview...
Once in a while something interesting turns up, but, at least to me, it's mostly just mediocre flicks that should have
been allowed to die a quiet death.

Re: Underground’ Host Millie De Chirico Interview...
While it's bad for someone to lose their job, I always thought Underground was a misnomer. A more accurate title would
have been Low-Budget Semi-Grade Z Drive-In Fare, but that would have been too much of a mouthful for branding purposes.

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES
Then of course we have Al Pacino. ("She can't even be a mother because her womb is so POLLUTED!") Yes, Al has played his share of gangsters of various descriptions. Al, try to find out from "Big Boy" Caprice where Jimmy Hoffa is buried, even if it would be anachronistic. I try n...

I still have my records, though I don't play them that often. Fun sometimes to look through them and remember when and
where I bought them.

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES
Capone is so iconic you can have virtually anybody portray him. I'm thinking of Jason Robards, Jr. in THE ST. VALENTINE'S DAY MASSACRE. There's probably not a less appropriate looking actor to do so unless maybe it's Wally Cox. Or Franklin Pangborn. Don't make me use my feather duster. Robards cert...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES
For some reason many Europeans (except the Brits, who refer to them as "the continent") whenever they meet an American (on-screen), their response is "Do you live in Chicago? Al Capone, rat-a-tat-tat!" complete with machine gun body language. I too never exactly understood Scarf...

Re: The 1960s
I've never found the characters in Virginia Woolf to be hateful. Annoying to various degrees sure, but not hateful. George is a witty guy who goes off the tracks very easily and turns into a bit of boor. He might be fun for a while, but a steady diet of George would not be helpful. Martha is much th...
