Re: I Just Watched...

I have read that some people believe that it is over-the-top. It is Audrey Hepburn wearing Givenchy clothes and Cartier jewels. It is Peter O'Toole in a comedy role. It is set in the Paris art world of the 1960s. It is Hugh Griffith and Moustache in supporting roles. What sane and sensible person w...

Re: SPOILERS!

Although the murder is not solved by the inspector, the victim was stabbed by his illegitimate son, but he was already dead from poison given to him by a servant (who was the stabber's mother).

Re: 2023 TCM Film Festival

After the panel, we were back at Grauman's for another special presentation--ANN-MARGRET being interviewed before a screening of "Bye Bye Birdie." When Ann-Margret was introduced as a guest, neither Jimmy nor I cared what was scheduled against it. We were seeing Ann-Margret. Dave Karger i...

Re: What are you listening to?

I saw American Graffiti at the TCM Classic Film Festival and have been listening to the music from the soundtrack ever since then. I love this movie, and the music is one of the things that make it so great. One of my favorite songs featured in the movie is "Runaway" by Del Shannon. https:...

Re: 2023 TCM Film Festival

The American Legion Theater is very convenient for people staying in the hotels and motels up Highland Avenue, especially for the early morning or evening shows, or to sneak in a nap at your hotel and then go to the Legion. It's not much further from the Chinese Multiplex than the Egyptian. The bal...

Re: 2023 TCM Film Festival

I attended the TCM Film Festival for the first time this year! On Tuesday April 11, my mom and aunt surprised my cousin and me with the news that the four of us had Classic Passes and plane tickets to Los Angeles! We didn't stay at Hotel Roosevelt, but that was okay. Maybe another year . . . My mom ...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

I agree that Edith Evans should have won that year. Re: Barbra, whom I'm not fond of on film: One of the great cinematic mistakes: not casting Carol Channing in the film of Hello, Dolly ! While I love Carol Channing as Muzzy in Thoroughly Modern Millie (one of my favorite movies), I'm glad that nat...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

And I know people will disagree with me, but I think that Barbra Streisand for Funny Girl should have been the sole winner the year that she tied with Katherine Hepburn for The Lion In Winter . This was probably a true tie in terms of votes because I suspect that both Katherine Hepburn and Barbra S...

Re: Theater

Couldn't watch since I was in Staten Island all day, but so pleased that Katie Brayben and Zubin Varla won Oliviers! I was surprised that the song from Tammy Faye that was performed at the Oliviers didn't feature Katie Brayben and Andrew Rannells. https://assets.playbill.com/editorial/_articleLeadI...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

The 1962 MOTB was on the TCM schedule last week so I decided to dive right in but as soon as Marlon opened his mouth, I just could not continue. Andree, re: Vera Clouzot -- she wore those braids in DIABOLIQUE so that's why I thought your avatar was a publicity still from the movie. ON GOLDEN POND (...
