Re: I Just Watched...

As for Lume, that has been around a while, enough to spark a major deodorant company to develop/produce/market an “all body” product in less than a year. We have been shaming body odor to the point of people poisoning themselves in attempt to cover “unpleasant" odor. I do believe the Talc Powd...

However, I do draw the line at Hume Cronyn.
Yeah, I'm with you on the hamburger thing.

But I would have to also go with Maxwell Caulfield for the win!

Don't even broach the subject of age with me, lol.
You're 29 and holding.

Holding on for dear life, but holding nonetheless.

That said, given how angry she was over the moment at the Oscars, it is beyond shocking that she signed on to play the villain in Cleopatra Jones, where her henchman's dyin...

Jardiance, the musical, is an insult.
A singing commercial for a diabetes drug is so very wrong.

Re: I Just Watched...

It was 1988's Purple People Eater . Also starred Ned Beatty and Peggy Lipton. Never seen it (or heard of it, for that matter), but it looks about as good as you might imagine... I've never heard of it either, but that's par for the course for many of Shelley's later films. Sure looks strange to me.

Sorry to say, I missed both! Keep hoping TCM will show SCORCHY someday!! an AIP exploitation flick Connie did in the 70s playing a no holds barred (and bared!) policewoman!
I always enjoyed Glenda Farrell as Scorchy Blane.

Re: Solar Eclipse?

What was easy was understanding why people long thought they were evil omens. Some still think so, and they have access to Twitter/X, and use it a lot. Has anyone tried to blame the eclipse on climate change yet? I don't pay enough attention to that corner of Twitter to know, but I know last Friday...

Both of my sisters are in Texas, in the path of totality. If I didn't have an elderly father to look after, I would have thought very seriously about flying down to visit them.

If they're going to show the old interstitials, can they show Sydney Pollack getting the heebie-jeebies at the thought of Ben-Hur panned and scanned again?

Anyone feel the earthquake? My building shook. I live close enough to freight train tracks that I feel the vibrations of every train that goes by. I felt the earthquake, which seemed like a MUCH bigger train going by. It was only 20 minutes later that my supervisor, based out of Kansas, asked all o...
