Re: What recent films have you seen?
I too enjoyed BRIDGE OF SPIES. Another example of real life stories being as exciting as any that a screenwriter can dream up. Another new film SPOTLIGHT comes to the UK in January - about Boston reporters who uncovered child abuse by priests.Has anyone seen it? I want to see the new STAR WARS just ...

Re: Let's talk about Jesse Stone
I've just discovered Jesse Stone and love it. I have two to catch up with (they are in the post to me) and then I will have seen them all up to 2012. I don't know when I will get to see the latest one here in the UK. I wonder why there were no shows in 2013 and 2014. I echo all that has been said. I...

In that 1981 photo of Deanna you can see a copy of the magazine, the Radio Times which is a BBC publication which I buy every week, for Tv and radio listings in the UK. The magazine has been going since the 1920s - they didn't bother to change the name when TV came in!

Re: Gone With or Without fanfare
I'll always remember Keith Michell in the musical On The Twentieth Century ( based on the film,Twentieth Century) in which he layer the John Barrymore role. He had a great singing voice, and it is one of my favorite stage musicals.

These are terrific videos especially the Rita Hayworth one. What imagination to compile all these clips which fit perfectly to 'Staying Alive'.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: What recent films have you seen?
I enjoyed A WALK IN THE WOODS. I haven't read the Bryson book, but will now. Nick Nolte almost stole the film . Very funny performance . The trail looks magnificent . I've liked Robert Redford in this and ALL IS LOST. Also liked THE MARTIAN though I thought 140 minutes was too long - maybe because I'...

Re: CANDIDS II
What indeed has happened to make this site so under used . To my mind it has everything you could want to comment on, yet hardly anyone seems to be using it. If it weren't for Candids, I probably wouldn't be here myself. Such a shame. I don't know how you bring people back except of course if people...

Re: Q & A with Jeffrey Spivak about Buzz: The Life & Art of Busby Berkeley
You mentioned THEY MADE ME A CRIMINAL and FAST AND FURIOUS, two non-musicals which were very good. Why do you think Busby didn't do more dramas/comedies in the 40s/50s? Being an Ann Dvorak fan, I'd love to see 1935's FUNNY FACE (aka BRIGHT LIGHTS). Can you recommend it? "Remember My Forgotten M...
