Re: Ben Johnson

Anyone have a spare $385 sitting around? If you do, you can do a "buy it now" on eBay and get a pair of Ben's custom made boots. Wow, they'd be great to own (and they'd probably fit me) but first I'd have to rob a bank, and that doesn't always turn out too well ....  http://i10...

Re: Ben Johnson

Thank you for the stories, ladies. :D It's so refreshing and reassuring in this crazy world, that whenever someone has a Ben Johnson story to share, you just know it will increase your respect and affection for the man.

Re: Ben Johnson

Mary-Kate, the big Monroes episode for Ben is "War Arrow." Warning: bring a hanky. This has one of my all-time favorite Ben line readings, but I'm not going to say which one line it is right now. :) Another good one is "Teaching the Tiger to Purr" where Sleeve (Ben's character) ...

Re: Ben Johnson

Oh Wendy, I'd be grateful to get your suggestions, don't run yourself down! (sayeth Mary-Kate, who just ran herself down a post ago )

I found a bunch of "The Monroes" episodes on youtube the other day, can anyone recommend some that feature Ben more notably?

Re: Ben Johnson

Mary-Kate, you can use anything on my website or that I've posted here. I can't wait to see your video and you can bet it will get a big mention at the Ben page once it's done! ;) Thanks a lot! (and uh oh, don't raise hopes too high  ) I'm using more than several of your magazine/publicity ph...

Re: Ben Johnson

Thank you kindly, Chris and... Wendy? (Long time, no see :? ) Paula, I didn't notice your first posting about Tomboy and the Champ; great news! I'm about to order. I hope to use some clips from it for my Ben Johnson tribute video (which is finally beyond the conception stage, though still a work in ...

Re: Ben Johnson

Well, here’s my first post with my new account, on the Ben Johnson thread, but it’s not about Ben! (treason, seek it out!) I had always wondered if John Payne did his own singing, thanks for the information, Paula! Very nice voice he had (I understand his mother sang opera?) I’ve recently “discovere...

The Prisoner of Zenda

Hello Kingme, you asked for my thoughts on Prisoner of Zenda (1937) I must have watched it half-a-dozen times, but not in the last few years (time to see it again.) I wasn’t prepared to do a full review, so for what they are worth, here are some ramblings instead. I thought, rather than post ...
