TOM...

I loved Tom Poston. Sorry to hear of his passing, but I'll just bet Suzanne Pleshette helped him enjoy his last remaining years. I think he did some of his funniest stuff on Newhart. Thank you for the info.

I'd love to participate, too. Especially if it's something I've already read, but I am also willing to add new ones. Right now, I'm taking graduate classes, so I have a great deal of assigned stuff, but I'll certainly need a break from that .

Wonderful idea.

I wasn't a big Brando fan either, but I enjoyed this documentary so much. I loved hearing about how he would gear up for a scene, and I didn't realize how deeply he felt about Kazan. Photos of him as a youngster reveal how he seemed to struggle for attention everywhere. Karl Malden's comments were s...

RE:

I just reread my earlier comments, and they sound so snippy. Didn't mean to denigrate Carrie like that and be so negative. I thought about adding a :D , but everybody seems so shell-shocked  from emoticon abuse, I just hesitate to add one. What the heck. :P When I wrote it, I think I wa...

HATARIHATARIHATARIHATARIHATARI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hatari, for the score, the locale, the humor, and the camaraderie.
Plus, all my best friends went to see it with me on my 7th birthday!

OOPS! But that won't qualify as a true western, so I'll go with
HONDO!

Dear Judith, Well, I hopped around in the IMDb and they listed the same dates. Still, unusual if it was the same date. Thanks, Judith. Great thread idea. I am thinking of two Hollywood-based performers: Both stars received gifts from Howard Hughes. Both stars played leading roles for Paramount. Both...

Dear John, After an initial run in the Houston version of Romper Room at the tender age of 4 where I met Dan Rather before his hit Hurricane Carla coverage, I was not to dust the stage skirt until, after several grueling audition sessions, given the privilege of performing as a Eunuch protecting Tup...

This is a wonderful thread, judith. Thanks for keeping it up and running. I also felt Carolyn Jones was underutilized, and enjoyed the exploits of Mike Kellin. Remember The Wackiest Ship in the Army ? Jack Warden, also one of my favorite folks, was in that, too. Loved the double Queens! I finally sa...

RE: THE GREATEST WHANGDOODLE OF A THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is inspiring, John. What was your first show if you don't mind my asking? Wouldn't It Be Loverly is the only song I can sing from My Fair Lady with any degree of professionalism. Great Link. Also, you know how much I love Whistling in the Dark... When I was in London this summer, I just reveled...
