Re: To Dream of Dogs
Is that Joan Blondell? It sure looks like her cute smile, but I don't remember it from anything I have.

Re: To Dream of Dogs
Just went out to care for Rosa and couldn't find her...she was up walking around and looking for any leftover bites of kibble! I can't believe it. I gave her a treat and a big hug and I am so happy. I know her days with us are numbered but am so happy to see her moving about.

Re: WHAT SILENTS & PRE-CODES HAVE YOU SEEN LATELY?
Oops, jumping in a little late, but just had to pipe up about Jean Harlow. I just adore her, she seems more like a character actress than a serious (depressing) star to me. I like Red Headed Woman a lot, but one of my favorites is The Girl from Missouri. Okay, so there's one tiny little suicide in i...

Re: The whiny thread
My husband received better news than hoped and no surgery required! YAAAAY! We are still in the information gathering stage and he has to see an endocronologist but hopefully we are on our way to a better future. Thanks to all for your kind thoughts.

Re: Do You Have Trouble getting others to watch classics?
I should give my husband a little credit. He does like a few old war movies and westerns. Both genres not my favorites and I've seen his favorites over and over. He likes John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. He will occasionally watch a mystery/crime drama with me and likes some Hitchcock. (About once a y...

Chris,
I won't mourn your ipod till you try the last suggestion...
let us know when to break out the candles.
(I'm being a little facetious, but not snarky. You should have seen the fit I threw when the tv remote bit the dust.)

Moira, I know what you mean about Trivial Pursuit. Not only do I know actors and films, but I also know lots of other weird facts and trivia from watching movies set in so many places and periods. Does this happen to you: People call you to settle arguments about who was in what movie?

Re: Chilean Mine Rescue
Fernando, I don't really know too much about the politics of your president, but he certainly is handsome and charming! Judging by the depth of his smile lines, I think he must use those muscles quite a bit. His pride and love for his countrymen was very compelling. The whole story has just been so ...

Alison, I hope you get good news about your health and I'm so glad you didn't hurt yourself in the fall. It's so sweet your dad came to get you. My dad rescued me Friday when my car broke down and I was sitting on the side of the road. It's so great to have a dad to call; I didn't live near mine for...

Chilean Mine Rescue
I am watching this live and just wondered who else from our group is tuned in. How incredible...thrilling...moving. My heart goes out to the miners, their families, and the rescuers and their support. It has been an unbelievable venture.

Re: Do You Have Trouble getting others to watch classics?
YEP, that's mainly why I'm on this board. I don't mind watching the movies alone, but I get tired of talking to myself about them! I can occasionally con the kids into watching one. I have one patron at work who likes 30s movies so we have a chat every couple of weeks. That's pretty much it.
