[quote="Sue Sue Applegate"]Thanks for posting this version with Tennessee Ernie Ford, movieman. I found this link from el poder de la palabra, and this version sounds like Tennesse Ernie Ford, too. http://www.epdlp.com/bso.php?id=2005 This is the movie version, lifted from the soundtrack o...

The Other (1972)

I saw this strange movie last night. 'The Other' (1972), directed by Robert Mulligan . It's kind of an erie drama horror movie. I don't know how I should classify it. It's a movie experience I won't soon forget. Two boys, one good, one kind of evil. 1930's setting. If you haven't seen it, I won't sa...

Well, Anne, I checked with the IMDb soundtrack listing, which looks like this: * "River of No Return" Performed by Robert Mitchum * "River of No Return" Performed by Tennessee Ernie Ford * "The River of No Return" Performed by Marilyn Monroe * "I'm Gonna File My Cl...

Sorry, but I don't believe it's Mitchum singing over the opening credits. It must be Tennessee Ernie Ford. But, during the ending of the movie I'm willing to bet it's Mitchum we hear. It sounds different to the voice in the opening. It's fuller / richer. I say, I prefer the Mitchum version to the Fo...

Anne and John M, About the locations for this movie. River of No Return (1954)

I'm very tired right now, but I've just seen the movie " River of no Return ". It sure is no classic, but it's beautifully photographed by cinematographer Joseph LaShelle . Almost any movie photographed by Mr. LaShelle is worth seeing. Many people holds this one as one of their favorites. ...

Chris, You know how to say it! Nancy, I know " The Sundowners " is considered a classic. But, I don't like the music, and the overall feeling of the movie. It's that "we're havin' a jolly good time haven't we, mate?". And all the shots of nature and animals seems more like an exc...

Chris, That " The Robert Mitchum Signature Collection " is, overall, a good one. I found " The Sundowners " a bit overrated, though. Mitchum is great in it anyway. And that " The Good Guys and the Bad Guys " is one lame western comedy. Ok, " Macao " is no clas...

Thank you for your comments, Anne! But, it's not like I want to see the "darker" westerns because I'm a dark minded person. I tend to think of myself as a, generally, positive person. If you meet people with a positive mind they'll give you the same treatment. Of course, I'm only human. Al...
