Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Ya know, I never thought Connie Stevens was all that hot.

(...but I gotta admit she was lookin' pretty darn good in that clip up there, anyway)

Re: Solar Eclipse?

We're not in the path of totality here in South Florida but I did see a few iguanas and alligators wearing those special eclipse glasses. We've learned to be prepared for anything in the Sunshine State. Yeah, that made the national news, Bronxie! https://th.bing.com/th/id/R.dd87295c574b02c7417d3116...

Re: Solar Eclipse?

Well, my only plan so far is to find a certain Manfred Mann cover of a Springsteen song on YouTube tomorrow morning, listen to it, and then heed his mama's advice.

(...so, ever wonder if Optometrists do bigger business after one of these things happen?...I'll bet they DO!)

Re: Humorous Memes

Of course and then again, there WAS that one time Warren Beatty invited me on his Lear Jet to fly to Nova Scotia to see a total eclipse of the sun, but I had already made other plans and so I had to decline his generous offer. (...he's so vain otherwise, ya know) It is easy when learning English to...

Re: Humorous Memes

...Have you experienced a solar eclipse? I found it to be a unique experience. It was quite easy to understand why people attached so much importance to them as omens. Only a couple of Annular ones. One back in the early-'90s and when we still resided in L.A., and then again in 2012 and just after ...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Could not agree more with your opinion about Danny Kaye in ONE TOUCH OF VENUS, Andree. I've heard about Danny's friendship with Olivier. Aside from anything else, the English were big fans of Kaye during his heyday so it doesn't seem all that, well, odd to me that one of their "classy" ac...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

...ONE TOUCH OF VENUS just concluded, and I remembered almost every line of dialogue. I've always however thought how unfortunate this movie was not given a lush MGM color treatment but instead is low budget black-and-white, making the whole production look a bit drab overall. Eve Arden still steal...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Maybe Karger can balance it all out if he's the one introducing MHTAV: "Mr. Dobbs Takes a Vacation" LOL OH yeah! That flick where when Bogie gets pulled over for speeding while driving the station wagon with his family in it to the beach, he asks the cop to show him his badge... (...well,...

Sorry I can't cue the song up for you: Confederate Railroad's "She Never Cried When Old Yeller Died." This is the song that also has the lyric "Listening to those Barry Manilow records was just one of her character flaws." Reminds me of a couple of lines in the now most likely s...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

That's basically what these folks do. And it is good all by itself. When I was a kid I used to mix Ovaltine with a little milk to make a very thick ice cream topping. I found OTOV to be very charming for the first half hour and then the musical numbers started, some of which were on the corny side....

I'd say Will is photogenic enough that he should consider trying to get more work in front of the camera.
