Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Dargo, you know me so well, lol! Actually Troy is more like a brother figure for me. But it's also because of his fish lips. Let's face it, they're blubbery, and I am a thin-lipped guy kind of girl.

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Connie was cute as Cricket in HAWAIIAN EYE. That was before her nose job.

Me with the Dateline: Secrets Uncovered episodes! Husband decides to treat wifey to a reconciliation picnic (they've been talking divorce throughout their long marriage but now she's serious about it) atop a cliff. They celebrate with wine, cheese and crackers. She stands up then falls over the edge...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Sorry to say, I missed both! Keep hoping TCM will show SCORCHY someday!! an AIP exploitation flick Connie did in the 70s playing a no holds barred (and bared!) policewoman! Wow, I never even heard of that one, much less starring Connie Stevens. Yeah, it played out quickly. Mostly drive in bookings....

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

I am nauseous right now.

Not sure if it's Professor Suber's The Power of Film that's making me feel this way or watching Andrew Zimmern gobble down fried crickets on The Food Channel.

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Speaking of Troy Donahue (who many of you might remember I've always called Fishface) Oh, Bronxgirl, you're wrong for that. I didn't want to laugh, but I did . . . Interestingly I've always thought The Creature from the Black Lagoon was sexier than Troy Donahue, even though there is a piscine resem...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Judy Lewis also had big ears. Supposedly Loretta Young put hats on the poor kid during impromtu photo shoots to hide them and, according to some, had her undergo surgery to reduce their size. Wonder why Young even bothered, since Gable apparently never acknowledged Judy was his daughter.

Re: April 2024 Schedule Posted, Marlon Brando is SOTM

The greatest performance of Sidney's career is in ROSEMARY'S BABY.

For those of you who have the Flix channel, the movie has been on rotation for over a year now. (they're the one who also has been showing JAGGED EDGE)

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Wasn't David Janssen rumored to be the love child of Clark Gable? Speaking of Troy Donahue (who many of you might remember I've always called Fishface), check him out in MY BLOOD RUNS COLD. Troy, however, is eclipsed (that was a bore too) by the great Jeanette Nolan who for once onscreen is allowed ...

Re: Solar Eclipse?

We're not in the path of totality here in South Florida but I did see a few iguanas and alligators wearing those special eclipse glasses.

We've learned to be prepared for anything in the Sunshine State.

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

I finished the second hr. of Goodbye, Charlie last night (nothing worth watching on tv) and have to concur. I didn't laugh ONCE! And what a lame ending. NO STARS. Well, I gotta admit GOODBYE CHARLIE is not a laugh-out-loud movie or conventionally amusing in any important way -- but I love the endin...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

It's been so long since I've seen Take Her I can't remember much about it! I think Elizabeth Ashley played the part on Broadway (not Jimmy's role!) Was it a Broadway play? Ashley played a lot of those roles on stage. Yes, it was. Art Carney played Jimmy's role. Interesting! Thanks! I can't see Art ...

Re: MUSINGS, PONDERINGS, RUMINATIONS AND FANCIES

Could not agree more with your opinion about Danny Kaye in ONE TOUCH OF VENUS, Andree. I've heard about Danny's friendship with Olivier. Aside from anything else, the English were big fans of Kaye during his heyday so it doesn't seem all that, well, odd to me that one of their "classy" ac...
